#3 Wisconsin-Oshkosh drowned Lakeland 63-0, putting the game away with touchdowns on their first five possessions:
Titans Kickoff NCAA Postseason With Shutout Victory

Playing in both rain and snow, North Central used “sophomore running back Dominick Muoghalu, who rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on a school record-tying 40 carries” to prevail over St. john’s of Minnesota, 17-7:

NORTH CENTRAL 10-1 (429-188) ranked: #14 record: 13-10
Lost to Wheaton 20-42
at
WISCONSIN-OSHKOSH 10-0 (420-135) ranked: #3 record: 10-3

The school with the glamorous sounding name Wartburg, won a 35-28 shoot-out over Franklin in a game that came down to a jump ball between a 6-4 receiver and a 5-9 defender:
College football: No. 15 Wartburg holds off Franklin in overtime thriller, 35-34

Trine overwhelmed Monmouth of Illinois in the second half, 35-0 to win 63-24 in a game that must have resembled Wake Forest’s game against us:
Trine uses big 2nd half to put away Monmouth | Local colleges | Journal Gazette

TRINE (Ind) 11-0 (524-152) ranked: #22 record: 3-3

WARTBURG (Ia) 11-0 (380-169) ranked: #15 record: 9-11

The division’s perennial superpower, Mount Union shut down and shut out Washington & Lee, who came in with the nation’s #1 ground attack at 421 yards a game, in a game played in a “steady downpour”:
Football: #2 Mount Union Soaks Washington & Lee in NCAA Playoff Opener

(I was kind of hoping Washington & Lee would wind up playing Washington & Jefferson so we could see which side Washington was really on.)

“Case Western Reserve University senior running back Aaron Aguilar battled both blizzard-like conditions and one of the top rushing defenses in the country, running for a career-high 136 yards and three touchdowns to lead the 16th-ranked Spartans to a 28-0 win over 11th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington, Illinois”:
Aguilar’s Career Day Lifts #16 CWRU to NCAA Win at #11 IWU, 28-0

CASE WESTERN RESERVE (Ohio) 11-0 (463-169) ranked: #16 record: 32-3
at
MOUNT UNION (Ohio) 11-0 (588-100) ranked: #2 record: 94-15 (12)

“Freshman kicker Mauricio Garibay's (Hickory Hills, Ill./Saint Lawrence) 46-yard field goal bounced off the crossbar and through the uprights with under a minute remaining as Washington & Jefferson kept its season going with a 31-28 win over Johns Hopkins”:
Late field goal sends W&J to 31-28 win over Johns Hopkins in NCAA First Round

Once upon a time Wittenberg was the great Division 3 team from Ohio, (all-time record 757-381-59, .665) while Frostburg State was just another team, (266-280-8, .487). But in 2017, Frostburg, (another glamorous name: can they play Wartburg for the title?) easily handled the toothless Tigers, 35-7:
Frostburg Advances In NCAA Playoffs Behind Impressive Defensive Effort

WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON 11-0 (411-181) ranked: #10 record: 23-24-1
at
FROSTBURG STATE 10-1 (385-129) ranked: #17 record: 1-0
Lost to Wesley 24-27

Defending national champion Mary Hardin-Baylor blew past Chapman 50-6. The Panthers were held to 6 yards rushing:
UMHB tops Chapman 50-6 in NCAA First Round Game

Linfield moved to a 24-0 lead and held on for a 27-13 win over Hardin-Simmons.
Linfield drops HSU 27-13, earns rematch with UMHB
This earns them another game against Mary Hardin-Baylor, (by the way the “Hardin” in Hardin-Simmons and in Mary Hardin-Baylor is the same person). Linfield lost to MHB earlier this year 3-24 but they have quite a history against them, having beaten them in the national championship game in 2004, 28-21. They beat them again, 53-21 in the 2009 playoffs, 31-24 in the 2014 playoffs and 38-35 in the 2015 playoffs before losing last year to them 10-27.

LINFIELD (Ore) 9-1 (285-109) ranked: #8 record: 42-24 (4)
Lost to: Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-24

MARY HARDIN BAYLOR (Tx) 11-0 (462-88) ranked: #1 record: 33-14 (1)

Eureka didn’t say that when they lost to St. Thomas, 8-47:
Tommies use defense, special teams to pull away

Berry won their first ever post season game over Huntingdon 34-20 by grinding it out on the ground and throwing deep when they got around to it:
Berry downs Huntingdon 34-20 in NCAA opening round

BERRY (Ga) 11-0 (376-176) ranked: #18 record: 1-0
at
ST. THOMAS 10-1 (574-108) ranked: #4 record: 19-10
Lost to: Wisconsin-Stout 22-25

“Delaware Valley University used the big play all afternoon and scored on offense, defense and special teams as the fifth-ranked and undefeated Aggies blanked visiting Western New England University, 35-0”:
Delaware Valley 35, Western New England 0
(Amazingly, WNE actually gained more yards but didn’t get the big plays and had 3 turnovers).

Husson nipped Springfield 23-21, helped by the fact that “The pride” couldn’t complete a single pass:
Husson scores first-ever postseason victory

HUSSON (Me) 10-1 (436-133) ranked: unranked record: 1-2
Lost to: Western New England 14-21
at
DELAWARE VALLEY (Pa) 11-0 (437-90) ranked: #5 record: 8-6

Brockport State has become a new power in New York State Division 3 football, which used to be nationally significant but hasn’t really been heard from in recent years. The Golden Eagles looked ready for prime time in demolishing Plymouth State 66-0:
Golden Eagles Pummel The Panthers, 66-0

Wesley a power through much of this century but quiet recently may be on their way back. They just took care of RPI, 45-27:
