I'm not employed by SU and Fab isn't really an SU student anymore so I'm willing to speculate atleast until I can get FACTUAL ANSWERS! (Do They Exist Anymore?)I was away last night so I've missed your opinions, rumors and speculation.
I'm so sick of all this stuff/news that has come out this year and we haven't had resolution on one single item. Unless you happen to be JohnSyracuse or a janitor in the SID office you don't have any truths. So were basically saying not one item has been anything that SU could legally speak about? Our legal system is so over run with Waste, BS and PC Crap, another example of red tape suffocation.
We can't have any common sense communication anymore? Its been a bad dream that you can't wake up from and when you finally do you, are in another dream! There's a nice opportunity for a parody here: Forget "Orange Glory" I wanna see:
"Inception... Does It Ever End..."
The true horror story of SU Basketball's 2012 Season and its Groundhog Day of Inception.
Ok sorry I got off topic there...
Now back to the improper and irresponsible rampant speculation that our socialist PC environment has forced upon us.
I have a hunch that this entire situation was caused by Fab Melo getting improper benefits while in NYC. I have been thinking about it and the whole academic thing seems unlikely as u all were saying yesterday. Due to timing and not to mention if this was academics or especially current attendance and not cheating then every team seeded 4 or better would be missing players in the dance. Since the radio guys ever so slightly mentioned something about Fab and agent, and NYC and Brazilian restaurant & something like ...all sorts of interesting people at the table or restaurant.
We do know this inelligibility came immediately after SU was in NY where agents and media were partying. There was also interesting timing with Thamel or some other NY reporter reporting that Fab Melo will hire an agent and enter draft. This report came within minutes of the suspension news.
As I understand things suspension for academics would usually come after final grades. Maybe something to do with new info surfacing on old suspension? Maybe cheating or something? BUT here is where JB's tone comes into play. We couple all these things and combine it with the way JB didnt seem to hurl blame at Melo or better said he didn't seem extremely mad/bitter and I think said something limiting the blame he felt toward Melo.
If he failed a drug test he wouldn't be ruled inelligible for the whole shebang (oh maybe multiple x? this would also explain JB's tone, if he thinks its a stupid law or rule?). If he was found to have been cheating I think JB's tone would have been sharper.
Most often its one thing only that causes the NCAA to come & fine a school, remove victories, and punish hard and that is improper benefits to players. It's also a black and white infraction that a school couldnt allow a player to continue in the tourney. If it was bad academics or attendance its up to the school & they wouldn't wait till now.
With the mountains of bad press we have gotten the
whole season there is just no way the school did a proactive harsh punishment just to show we have control and we are better than cheating.
IMO, this was a huge NCAA 'death penalty' type infraction committed by Melo. How many of those exist? I only know of one, 'loss of amateur status by getting improper benefits' I'm guessing a loan, a car or lump sum payment but I'm confused because I thought I heard his family was wealthy? He must know the rules but I'm really being irresponsible & speculating now lol, I'm guessing another player ratted him out.
THE REAL ISSUE THIS SEASON HAS UNCOVERED FOR ME & IT'S MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN BASKETBALL:
What's worse for the school and "student athlete" this kind of irresponsible and possibly harmful speculation or the fact some kids (LOL 23 years old, international adult & not even a Citizen) feelings could be hurt because the truth of his cheating, breaking rules or laws comes out? One thing is for sure he did something horrible and its clear he's guilty or he would be in Pittsburgh right now. So why is everyone afraid of talking? You should lose a bit of rights when ur clearly guilty, What! We don't even live in the real world anymore!
Instead speculation causes the school, students and community to suffer from bad press & irresponsible journalism. In this socialist & PC hijacked country that we live, its somehow illegal for one of the parties (BTW the one who hired and was paying the kid 40k in schooling and Board) to speak the truth!
DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND THIS? He is an adult who was caught breaking the rules and the people who have invested a huge amount of money can't tell the story.
THE NCAA IS TOO POWERFUL AND MAYBE WE, THE FBS SCHOOLS NEED TO START OVER... NOW!!
