Postgame Thoughts… ASU

Let's keep talking sandwiches.

Regarding Sherwood's. It's not a Chicken Avocado on Egg Bread sandwich-- I forget the Bacon. Its Chicken Bacon Avocado on Egg Bread!

Looked at their recent reviews and regarding the sandwich itself they are favourable.

Here was the latest review which was in line with my last experiences.
"This was difficult to rate. Do I rate the food, which we enjoyed. It was fresh and we would return for it. Do I rate the service, which was horrible, but improved by a different server? Let's talk food. Fresh, tasty, filling, reasonable price. Service by older guy who kept telling me he could not understand and kept interrupting me as I ordered. Finally, the younger server was very helpful and answered our questions. For our first time there, was not very happy. But we will return. Hopefully the second time is the charm."
thanks for bringing up subs in the game thread. It kept me from freaking out about the dwindling lead and not seeing any subs. But seriously how can you bring up food in the evening on the 4th Thursday in Nov?

I'm in Canada. Our thanksgiving is the second Monday of October.

I don't care if you suckers are bloated.

I caught that. I married a Cannuck, eh, and we have both Thanksgivings now

Right you are the Peterborough guy from the thread. Didn't catch your handle at the time.

Yup same movie that lands us on the bubble then have a bunch of unhappy players hit the portal. Awesome movie.
You must have been sad the Orange won as you could have had much better negative takes to spin out. Sorry for you Phil, maybe Auburn will beat them tomorrow and you can go whole hog.

I love Jesse Edwards and think with the likely exception of Buddy, he is our most indispensable player. He has great touch inside and changes us on Defense. Scary thought that he almost transferred after last season. Let's feed him the ball some more and let him finish.

The way I saw it is JB wanted the taller players coming back on the inbounds so they could try to pass "over" the defenders. It worked most of the time, but once they started to dribble is when we ran into problems.

I agree with the comment about Symir not being used late due to his FT shooting. However, I would like to have seen him early in the second half around the eight minute mark when the pressure wasn't so intense. That would also give Joe a breather.

better game. Better game plan. Benny is def a worry though in my mind. He was expecting a ton of time like a lot of you were as well and if you watched the game he never clapped in the 2nd half when on bench. 6 mins for him in total. Something to keep an eye on and I’m not just saying it to say it. JB better figure something out soon for him because him playing 6 mins is crazy I don’t care what his reason is

That was a clinic on how not to handle pressure milking a lead. Need to attack the basket once you break it. Did it twice and got buckets. But it was a struggle to get it over half court.

Interesting that JB chose not to use Sy to handle the ball when he came in. Likely because he was cold and not a good FT shooter.

He also used the forwards a lot to give Joe a break.

I’m shocked at how well Jessie finishes. Still work to do, but he is light years ahead of last year.

JB wanted this win, likely why he didn’t sub second half. I mean we’ve seen this movie before, shouldn’t shock anyone.
Yup breaking the press isn’t enough, you have to make them pay for using it against you. Layups, get them in foul trouble, demoralize them for exerting all that effort - take advantage of their scrambling trying to defend you.

Benny needs minutes on the floor to develop so he can be the player we need him to be by the time conference season kicks in.

Yeah, I’m not sure we have good answers. The best ball handler can’t shoot FTs. The forwards are just not that strong enough or comfortable enough. And Joe’s handle isn’t good enough. Jessie seems good enough as an outlet and a decent FT shooter. Buddy is slow.

It’s where we really miss Marek.

If this is the new world order (not disagreeing with what you’re saying) it’s going to downgrade the sport, more so.

They ignore him despite the fact he is often unguarded when the Boeheims drive to the bucket .. Jimmy b has missed him several times the last two games for easy dunks and instead puts up that 1955 flip shot ..? GET HIM THE BALL

Yup. That was my thought. No way we would want to risk his FT shooting, but giving Joe a break earlier might have made a difference. Good win, though.

Jesse was amazing. Joe was soft as chit against their pressure. Buddy was solid but had a few quick triggers/forced shots. Jimmy is just super steady. Cole was better. Hard to believe no subs in second half until Cole fouled out.

Joe did better than he did against VCU by a lot. As a team, we were very low in turnovers tonight, at least until the last 5 minutes or so.
