Good guy. Incredible success at FSU. However I remember seeing us beating Coach BB and WVU at Archbold in 1975 on a 2 pt goal line stand 20-19. Play was stuffed by soon to be freshman transfer and All-American at Louisville, Otis Wilson.

He always struck me as the consummate players coach. I randomly remember one time on the sidelines and Peter Warrick had his arm around him in the middle of a game.

You can make a reasonable argument that he's on the Mount Rushmore of CFB coaches with perhaps Bear, Saban and someone like Rockne.

College football is better because of coaches like Bobby Bowden. He was an ambassador for FSU as their HC and afterwards. He will be missed.
