Now that hard copy tickets have been mailed I was hoping to see the "Print at Home" option appear on cuse.com but still don't see it. I've resold some of our excess inventory and a couple of the buyers do not have a Syracuse account. Think they would be a bit uncomfortable with mobile tickets too. Anyone have any information?

So I don't think it has been implemented at Syracuse yet but the Ticketmaster grand plan and has started in the NFL is that there are no print at home tickets and the QR code on the mobile ticket changes every 5 minutes or something ridiculous, eliminating screenshots of tickets. They want everything sold and transferred through their platforms which eliminates the scalpers.

I don’t see a print at home. They only need a Ticketmaster account for you to xfer tix to them.

Just confirmed. No print at home.

sounds like you need to escort all your excess inventory into the dome in person...

Yeah, think it is going to screw me for Duke. I'll have to get hard copy tickets and mail them.

Got an email this AM from the CARRIER Dome Box office. Curious, I know smartphones are ubiquitous, but what of the rare person that just simply does NOT have one, possibly an older adult? Are there contingencies? Will call?

EDIT- Got my own answer. Anyone who cant or doesnt want mobile can call the box office directly and haqve them mailed or held at will call.

its not a rare person without a smart phone.. Most of the highly intelligent Profs I know, do not like or use them. I also dont like they now you are forced to carry a phone to a game just to get in .

someone should explain how when they can scan paper tickets people were gaming the system which is what they were implying in the email?

Will call is a pain to use.. usually a line and in a spot thats really hard to get too quickly and easily.

I agree that the e-mail implies this was a major problem. How many tickets do we actually think they were talking about? I hope SU has put as much effort and energy into making sure the parking situations runs smoothly for the opener.

Get to the e-ticket screen. Screen Shot. Print.

according to the box office they are stopping a huge print at home re-sell scam that is ravaging the SU fan base.

is there some scalper market that uses paper ?

Suppose you transferred your tickets to me, and I printed several copies of each ticket and sold them many times over.

The 1st person at the gate gets in. The next 2-4 people are told that their ticket has already been scanned and they're SOL.

I cant kill SU for doing this. I have seen it becoming a thing, and they probably see Clemson as the first event where this could be ripe for this kind of stuff.

i agree. but just where would you be doing this, you arent scalping around the dome with paper tickets.. You arent doing it on line.. are you doing it at the office?

An SU ticket that people could not give away for 15yrs has been a huge problem in the re-sale market?

if it was happening so much they felt they needed to change policy why were people not informed in the area to be on the lookout?

I am sure there was a small scam market? but are we talking 10-20 tickets a game? i cant believe the demand was there for hundreds when it so easy to buy re-sell tickets so many ways for games that never sold out.

i hear you, i just think they are just trying to be ahead of the curve re: clemson.

Yes. It's easy to doctor a PDF ticket and make up a barcode or steal one from someone who naively posted their ticket online with the pertinent information still visible. This is a scam that has gone on for years.

It's not solely a SU problem. I'm surprised it took them this long to adapt to the times.

Yankee Stadium does not allow PDFs to counter fraud.

The New York Jets also don't allow it which caused uproar amongst older fans who don't have smartphones, but they didn't back down.

but is a huge issue for su fball games? Clemson maybe, but people need to protect themselves.. scalpers pull scams too, just outside the Dome

its not a huge deal for the fan who has tickets,, its a pain for the re-sale or easier transfer to friends market.

if its a huge issue then work with ticketmaster to fix the tech.

This happened a LOT with big games

ding ding ding! the Duke game was always a big one where this happened. people would buy up printed pdf copies of the tickets mainly through craigslist as there is no recourse for the buyer. i had it happen to me once on stubhub for a concert where a buyer took a screenshot of their mobile tickets and i was denied entry. stubhub upgraded my seats at no cost.

so people bought tickets off a site that offered no protection. so dont do it..

if you want to print at home you need to have an ID that matches to the ticket when it scans.. there problem solved..

We went to mobile ticketing this season at my place of business and after the loud initial uproar (most of what has been posted here) once people got used to it after two matches it's been pretty seamless and convenient. Most people prefer mobile tickets.

And for the large groups, ticketmaster's account manager makes transferring tickets to each guest super easy.

Bnoro
What would you is the avg scalping practice for your product and how often do you think people last minute change/sell the tickets compared to the SU fball/bball product?

i dont think its a bad idea to try to make mobile work.. I think its a bad idea to limit options that work for reasons that have a very limited scope..

we are talking a couple hundred tickets a yr at SU that this has any effect on. a couple simple changes and that would be reduced to almost none and still have the print at home option.
