Question: Why Was Oregon Not In P12 Championship?

They lost to Stanford.

Stanford won the Pac12 North.

Because college football is messed up. Seriously messed up.

It's amazing the league created to pay players and make a profit because it's a business makes the regular season, playoffs, and championship about as fair as it possibly can.

The college version - not so much.

Wow.

So the No. 5 team doesn't make the Pac 12 Final.

Only the SEC game seems worthwhile this year.

Well the #4 team didn't make their conference final either. Yet unranked Wisconsin is going to the Rose Bowl, and as of right now unranked ga tech is within striking distance of the Orange Bowl, but if they lose will be under .500. That is screwed up! BCS berth or losing record!:bang:

Are you saying your perception might be that the team that lost the head to head matchup might be better?

Sure.

The better team loses to the lesser talented team from time to time.

Most of the time the more talented team wins.

Like what happened in the SU-Rutgers game this year. The more talented team won.

If you really watched the games, you wouldn't keep saying that.

Whats really messed up is... Georgia comes within one play of winning the SEC championship and getting to the BCS championship to having to play in the Chick;fila Peach Bowl.

You are nothing, if not consistently stubborn. But you are wrong about Stanford. They are better than Oregon. And, your subjective opinions about everything else, including Rutgers, Paul Pasqualoni, B.J. Daniels and the future of the Big East are questionable at best.

  • 4-1 vs. Tulane (2-10), Howard (7-4), Arkansas (4-8), Kent State (11-2) and Army (2-9)
  • 2-3 vs. Northwestern (9-3), USC (7-5), Stony Brook (10-3), Minnesota (6-6) and Missouri (5-7)

That's the difference between Syracuse and your second favorite former Big East team. Rutgers will go to a better bowl on the basis of their 4-1 record against that weak slate above. We'll never know how they would have fared against stiffer competition because, like every year, their win total is padded.

The Knights lost the chance to claim they are "better" on Thursday night. They failed "prove it on the field" and win the conference outright.

You are basing your opinion on Tulane, Howard, Arkansas, Kent State and Army. And that's a pretty shaky foundation on which to form an opinion.

As much as I'm sick of Bama I really didn't think a UGA team that lost by 28 to South Carolina deserved to be in the BCS title game. Can't wait for the stupid BCS system to die.

Maybe true but at least they played south carolina and florida, something Bama did not do.

They created divisions in the Pac 12 and the two legit division winners played in the championship. In this particular case (Pac-12 Championship), isn't that the universally accepted NFL way?

I never liked the NFL set either and if the conferences go to this pod thing it'll even be worse. Oregon and Stanford were the two best teams in the Pac and that should have been the game played.

And we came within one play (blocked FG returned for TD) of beating Rutgers, which would have sent us to a BCS Bowl.

looks like the SEC strong armed the Cap one bowl into taking UGA
