SU, NC State, L'vlle all 10-8?
(this is a pretty likely scenario)

yeah she's just basing on the standings as of today - quite possible us,ville,NCst all finish w same conf record - too lazy to look up how a 3+ team tie is broken

It would go by who has the best win against a top team.
NC State is 0-1 against Virginia, 0-2 UNC and 0-1 against Duke
Louisville is 0-1 with 1 game left against Virginia, 1-1 against UNC and 0-1 against Duke.
Syracuse 1 game with UVa, 0-1 vs. UNC and 1-1 vs. Duke.

So it depends on who finishes higher between UNC and Duke. NC State loses this 3 way tiebreaker and then it becomes between Louisville and Syracuse.

We want Duke higher since we beat them and Louisville wants UNC higher because they beat them.

3 team mini conference. We were 1-1. You can look up the other two. ;)

I think they first look at the record of the 3 teams against each other. We beat Louisville, NC State beat us, and Louisville beat NC State. So that's 1-1 across the board. Next

b. If procedure (a) fails to break the tie, then each tied team's record shall be compared to the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings, continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage by a higher winning percentage.

So this will depend on how the standings close up. No one beat Virginia (if we beat them Monday then the 3 way tie is a lot less likely), we beat Duke, and Louisville beat UNC.

Louisville beat NC State
NC State beat Syracuse
Syracuse beat Louisville
So it goes to who did the best against the top team until one team is the best.

Yep, that’s next. Top down.

and who wins the tie-breaker btwn dook/NC if they split their two games and both finish 15-3?

Duke. As they beat UVA x2 and UNC lost to UVA.
That would be to our advantage.

The tiebreaker of Cuse NC State and lville will come down to who finishes higher in the standings Duke or UNC.
For all of us to be 10-8 that would mean UVA beat us and Lville in their last 2 games which would mean all 3 teams would be 0-1 vs UVA. Well Lville is 0-2 but per the tie breaker 0-2 is the same as 0-1.
Then it comes down to how each of us did against the 2nd place team.
If Duke beats UNC they would be the 2nd team.
Since we are the only team that beat them we get the 6 seed.
If UNC beats Duke they will be the 2nd team.
Lville is 1-1 vs unc and us and nc state are 0-1.
So Lville gets the 6 seed. Then the tie breaker starts over and nc state beat us in the head to head and they get the 7 seed. We get the 8 seed.

Do we care if we're 6 or 7? Would we rather play Duke or UNC (making a big assumption we win 1st game)?
