Current discussions on another thread beg for a realistic placement of SU coaching success. HCDM is still building his legacy, so he can't really be part of this yet.
  1. Ben - National Championship and twentysomething years between losing seasons; too bad it had to fall apart at the end
  2. P - a lengthy string (ten years) of SU being a national big-time powerhouse; too bad it had to fall apart at the end
  3. Mac - an undefeated season; too bad he didn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labor here longer
  4. Frank - got the Dome built (Okay, not him, but he demanded it and people listened) and brought exciting players to a stale program; too bad it didn't really pan out for him
  5. Reaves Baysinger - somebody had to fill the job; too bad SU hadn't recovered from WW II yet
  6. GROB - nice guy who brought in some good players; too bad it fell apart from start to finish

Biggie Munn. Stayed one year, then departed for Michigan State taking two guards with him who would become All-Americans.

I think this person should be placed at the top of the list of greatest modern SU Football coaches.

She is clearly the most physically dominant person in the mix and there is simply no debate about her attributes.

Thank you.

Before you include Reaves Baysinger you have to include Biggie Munn and Ossie Solem (who coached Coach Mac at Springfield if I am not mistaken and who invented the reverse center - Ken Beehner).

In fact, Reaves should be nowhere near the list.

1. Ben
2. Mac
3. Paul
4a. Frank
4b. Doug

Another winning season moves HCDM in to sole 4th place. He's got a way to go before reaching the 3rd spot.
