Does anyone know if we are pursuing any good RBs in the portal? We have one good, proven back and not much else is known.

Are we not selling any PT? Does Dino plan to play Allen 60 snaps a game and hope he doesn’t get banged up?

Confused here.

The main point is BYU, UVA, and SU last year were all pass happy Os. We don't need a workhorse RB. I don't expect Allen to reach 200 carries this year. Tucker only had 206 last year. He reached 20 carries in only 3 of 10 games vs P5 teams, with a high of 21. There aren't a lot of carries to spread around.

BTW last year in P5 games Shrader almost had the same amount of carries as our primary RB. And that is with him being totally immobile for half the games.
Shrader had his carries and we were an effective offense when he was healthy. But once he was injured? Similar with Dungey. Runners get injured.

Allen will be our star. How do you rate our RB2 (Price) and the two frosh and walk-ones?

With the transfer help for the OL and secondary, the returning talent at WR, the young and developing DL - to me, the single biggest remaining addition would be at RB.

I remember Dino said at a spring presser that walk on Elijah Wright 6'3 275 was working at the H'back position formally held by the RHINO. I really would love to see him as a crushing lead blocker who could get a few of carries to boot.

Escobar is capable of providing good meaningful snaps.
Seems asinine to go into the season relying on a walkon to potentially be a backup RB. Not saying he can’t do it, but given the amount of players in the portal there just has to be someone to give a scholarship to.

Backup? He’s fourth at best if they want to redshirt somebody.

sometimes you dont need HR hitters at RB.. IF guys can move the chains and hold onto the ball when the oline is effective that can be all you need. Tucker saved some plays with speed on the reverse the field thing but the plays that hurt this offense was the lack of just nice solid 3-7 yd running plays that dont required elite guys taking it to the house. We havent had that make 3 miss or run thru 5 tackles guy like Bama does for a long time.
