Rebounding Rebounding Rebounding

I was really impressed with Rak today. I was surprised he only ended up with 8 when I looked at the box score. But it seemed like he got a ton of loose balls also.

Grant has been an absolute beast on the boards this year. It's not just his height or vertical, he has great hands. Really goes up strong in traffic and secures the ball.

Seems like he had 2 or 3 tips as well.

One of the few times they were actually talking about the game on the UNC board, a couple posters were talking about how much better they are on the glass, and how we rank so poorly in rebounding numbers, etc.

Um, how's that crow taste?

UNC ranks 11/351 D1 schools in rebounding and that was the one issue I was worried about the most and boy was I wrong, Grant, CJ and Rock really did a great job on the glass

It was an encouraging performance on the glass. This type of rebounding will really help us in games against the likes of Pitt, where the physical defense often makes for low scoring, but we generally get beat up on the glass.

Not this year.

I'm pretty sure we ranked better than them both offensive and defensive rebounding before coming into the game, so not sure what they were talkig about.

I also just realized Ken Pom updates in the middle of the day now. Incredible.

what an outstanding job we did on the glass. I was pleasantly surprised. That performance shows that we can win in many ways. Props to Rak, Grant, and CJ who dominated the glass all day.

Love it when our guys continue to grab those "grown man" rebounds in traffic. Seems like in the past we would always lose out on those but not this year.

"Grown man." That's a great way to put it, Francis!

I said in the preseason practice report that I wrote that Rak looked like a "man" this year. He came in as a kid with a good frame, but something was different about his presence down low this year.

He isn't ever going to be a big scorer. But he's added that hook shot to his repertoire and is now finishing the shots inside that he should. And he's holding his own on the boards. Something to build on--needs to keep improving--but he and Keita are giving us amalgamated better inside contributions than what we've had in recent years.

Great to see.

the last two games (which is only two games) is the best rebounding by SU I have seen since probably 2010. thank you Jerami, etc
