So, my wife and I are going to the Dave Matthews concert tomorrow night. We've never been and have heard horror stories about traffic and parking. Any tips or recommendations - where to park? Cabs/Uber/Lyft or possible shuttles. Open to any options. Thanks!!!

There are only about 2,500 spaces available in the Orange lot (due to paving).

They are running shuttles from the Brown and Pink lots.

There is also a shuttle from the Centro Hub.

I thought the bus from downtown was very simple and also when you leave there is no traffic down there..

it holds 17K. 2500 in orange at say 2.5 per car leaves another 10K ish about 4k to park.

sounds like horror stories again. the venue and the city needs to get this put together its been years of issues like this

talked with a few friends who went.. they said it was a mess all the way around. orange lot wasnt even being fully used, not enough buses. not enough security.. closing off the walk bridges..

did the hospital sign up for this mess.. I would have thought they would have done over kill on event one just to be safe.

So happy we took the shuttle from Shaughnessy's Pub downtown. 20 minutes total door to door to get there.

Left the house a little after 5 PM. Parked in the Orange lot by 5:30. Had no problems.

Obviously the parking situation is going to be a mess there until they get the orange lot finished. Even still, parking at concert venues is always less than ideal, so it's never going to be perfect. However, they have no excuses for the long lines to get into the amphitheater. It shouldn't take 30-45 minutes to get in the place. They need to either build another entrance or hire more staff at the gates. 8-10 ticket checkers for 15,000+ people arriving at relatively the same time is asinine.

Mahoney's flip response ('the takeaway is, what a nice venue for a show' or something along those lines) says it all. This is what happens when the local kleptocracy throws up a public buildings with no planning and no process. It'll accommodate the people with common sense (Hi, Rick!) who leave early and plan ahead, but the short-sighted majority are stuck running across expressways or missing part of the show.

And how does it get fixed? People aren't getting to this place from the north, east, or south - because of where this is located, there's forever going to be a chokepoint as everyone looks to enter (and exit) from the same place. Dumb.

But people still criticize the city for not acceding to Cuomo and dashing together the same project in stadium form...
