The 2017 class seems to hit each part of the country, except no canadians. Who are the studs?

According to Recruiting Rundown:
No. 9 Lucas Quinn
No. 17 Tucker Dordevic
No. 37 Owen Seebold
No. 84 Brendan Curry

According to Inside Lacrosse:
No. 8 Quinn
No. 19 Seebold
No. 27 Troy Lauder
No. 28 Dami Oladunmoye
No. 56 Dordevic
No. 78 Jacob Walthour

These are preseason rankings from last September, so take them with a grain of salt.

Quinn, Seebold, and Dordevic were named to the Under Armour All-America Team (they only take 44).

I'm bullish on Casey Rogers because he's 6-4 200+. Good luck trying to stop him getting topside.

He's prepping at Avon Old Farms next season, and he's taking a lot of football recruiting trips.

His twitter still says 'Cuse though.

I'm sort of hoping he doesn't go prep

Watched the highlights of the offensive recruits of the 2017 class. Disclaimer I am not factoring in level of competition and I am definitely no expert. These are just my quick opinions on some highlights I have spent some time watching.

Jacob Buttermore: possible D-Middy definitely a red shirt candidate and long term project.
Brendan Curry: most likely a middy over attack. Good vision from the midfield decent shot
Tucker Dordevic: speedy/shifty future midfielder for us. His shot and speed are intriguing could be a great player. Gonna be a big jump in level of competition but he looks to have the skill
Troy Lauder: looks to be a crease attackman good righty finisher
Connor Nelson: feeder quick shot but not a lot of power on his shot. Could be a future X attack man
Dami Oladunmuye: big strong athlete very raw but fun to watch
Jonathan Partamian: great stick work and shot on the run. Really an intriguing player to watch. Haven't heard a lot about him but he looked to me to be a really talented midfielder.
Lucas Quinn: quick shot didn't appear to be a great athletes but a really smart lacrosse player. He looks to be the most polished prospect. I think he will be a really good player for Cuse.
Owen Seebold: the most intriguing prospect I watched because I just don't know. His play reminds me of Shack Stanwick. He is big and tall and does everything well. He may not be a wow guy when you watch him play but he just puts up points. He makes defenders look silly but he is neither extremely strong or fast. He just makes things happen.
Tanner Wood: to me he should end up on attack as a shooter. Could be a good future man up specialist.

The three most impressive Dordevic and Quinn are the knowns, but Partamian really impressed me as well. Seebold is the one we need the most to be a star because he is a pure artackman while the other three that I thought showed well are middies.

The next few years we will probably find out my analysis is incorrect but I'm excited to see who makes and impact next year. Plenty of spots open. I would say only 3 of our returning middies are for sure first or second liners. I would love to see 2-3 of these young middies on the second line. And watch out for Seebold to make some moves as a 4th attackman.

O and JJ in 2019 is a can't miss 4 year starter for sure. He is gonna be one heck of a player.

Correct and he's doing it for football purposes. Sounds like if he doesn't get a D1 offer in football he will play lax at Cuse in 2018/19

So far, his only offer is from Lester at WMU.

That's what I have been told as well. I think there was some hope Babers might come calling (dad especially would like that) but to date I don't think SU has shown much interest. I have been told that Casey has really elevated his game this year and a person who thought he would struggle to make an impact in Div 1 last year now feels he could play at SU. Bodes well if we can get him here.

Heard the same thing. Scouts worried about his ability at the next level due to the level of competition he was going against. By doing a PG year it gives him a chance to showcase against higher level players

A few HS games are in ESPN3 today including IMG Academy with Fernandez, The Woodlands HS with Grant Murphy and Hill Academy with Owen Hill.

I'm curious if Sean Donnelly plays with the IMG Nationals.

Some other interesting teams are playing, including St Anne's Belfield with Shellenberger.

What do you think of Magnan?

I hadn't watched any tape on the 2018's but I checked out what I could find on him. Powerful lefty sniper who finishes extremely well. No overly fast but uses power moves to score. Doesn't need a lot of room to get his shot off. Honestly reminds me of a bigger Mariano. Same swagger same ability to get his shot off without any room. Kids gonna be a really good player

Thanks. Kid seems like he has the moxie...but not the conditioning. Big kid ranked as high as #2 next year.

cant wait to see this kid on campus, really think he could be our freshman star...

Magnan us the real deal. He could be the best Cuse recruit since Nims/Leveille

Starter from day 1 then right...
Freshman year 30, 10?

I would be shocked if he wasnt starting from day 1. He has the ability to put up Aiken type numbers.

Wonder if Cuse is in on Neal Brown ('19) - seems like he would be a really good fit. Decommitted from Hopkins last year and reclassified as a 2019. Club coach is Liam Banks. Watched a little tape on him and he is fast and quick. Not sure how great the competition is in TN, but he has really quick feet for a big guy.

Simply providing a counterpoint here. This is one of the bigger summer tourneys from this past weekend, bringing the top 16 club programs in the country to Long Island. Every program in the ACC, Big 10, BE, IVY...literally EVERY other top 30 D1 Lax program had at least one coach in attendance, many had multiple. Tillman, Petro, Tierney, Tiffany, Shay, Toomey were some notable HCs.

Not a single one of our coaches were listed as having attended. I support Desko & am well aware of & excited about the higher caliber of recruits that we have lined up in the coming classes, but these types of things do bring about some questions. & this is far from an anomaly, our staff is nowhere to be found on these lists more often than not. Just food for thought.

Most commits at UA underclass: Ohio State (15) Maryland (14) UNC (14) Michigan (12) JHU/Navy (11) Notre Dame (7) UVA/Harvard/PSU/Duke (6)

Don't want to make a big deal about this but how can SU not be on this list? How does the likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Navy and PSU have more Under Armour underclass commits than Cuse?

Would love to hear some feedback from some others but this seems to be an issue too me.
