Assuming we get everyone who says yes, we currently have 20 commits. Going on the assumption that Cory Boatman, Dorian Graham, Deon Goggins, Dan Vaughn, Jarel Lowery, Ian Allport, David Stevens, Chandler Jones and Adam Harris return for their redshirt senior years and Shane Kimmel, Carl Cutler, Johnny Miller and Marcus Sales don't we have around 21 scholarships available. With that in mind I have a few questions. If we can only take one kid who would it be? Who else might be leaving to open a few scholarships (beyond Chandler Jones if he has a big year)? While I realize the season is very young could Syracuse be better next year under the possibility or returning 9 defensive starters, both specialists and 6 offensive players?

Jarron Jones, need position and new york state. If not him, I would want a playmaker on offense. A big time running back.

I've given up on Jones - but he would be the 1 player I would take in a heartbeat.

Although, there will be at least 3-5 attrition players. so we can take closer to 25 players.

I am not going to speculate on players leaving, but anytime you make plans a year in advance and have 85 people involved, there is going to be fall out and we will almost surely lose a couple of players for the usual and maybe not so usual reasons (grades, transfer, health, etc.).

The Syracuse team next year is going to have a good blend of experience and talent in place, with a lot of it in key positions. Barring a lot of bad things happening, I see Syracuse being in the discussion for preseason conference favorite and we might even be ranked at the start of the year.

I think so too. If we end up fielding a competent defense this season, that should mean the defense next year is very good - there just aren't many guys on the two deep that wouldn't be back.

On offense we'll still have Lemon and all the young wideouts, some promising guys at tight end - we'll need to plug some guys into the right side of the line but I think there will be some ability there. Nassib will be a 5th year senior, and I think the guys we have at running back will be pretty good and up to the job.

More than anything, I think we'll have a team that balances good offense with good defense - we won't be relying on one side of the ball to carry the day, and that feels to me like a conference contender and Top 25 team if we end this season with some momentum.

Lowery returning?

He's played 1 game in 3 years ... when he can stay healthy.

The other side of this equation is that not all of our verbals will make it here next August (grades, decommits, etc.).
