I think most of us are in agreement that the second line midfield needs something. Whether that is a shuffling of players or whatever, it has been kind of stagnant and will need to be better if we want to go anywhere. I like the staff running Seebold out of the box on that second line some but I thought of something else that could be intriguing...

I know I have been extremely high on true freshman #43 Aviles. Hes been great at SSDM and in my opinion is better than Barlow who has two more years of experience than him. Aviles was a really talented and flashy scorer in high school, I'm proposing the staff give him some two-way runs with the second line on both offense and defense. Hes fast and physical and would make for a good dodger to complement Buttermore's shooting ability. I still would like to see Magnan, the Kim's, or Pete Fiorini get some run with the second line. Lotta talent there.

What is typical or good production from a second line? I am curious what the baseline is for most teams and if our 2nd line is really that stagnant. Honestly, I have no clue.

Some of it depends on coaching. How many reps do you give your second line? In our case... traditionally, Desko gives the second line a little less if not just as many runs as the first line. Obviously you expect the first line to be more productive, but last Cuse had a 20 goal scorer on the 2nd line in Buttermore. I would say this year its not so much their production that worries me, but more the eye test. The offense looks a good deal worse with the second line out there. Less movement and cohesion. None of this will matter when the season is cancelled within the next 24 hours.

Get Quinn out...I think his best role for the team may be as a man-up specialist.
