RIP Al Bemiller

On the slip of paper on my desk that has Ernie Davis' autograph are also the autographs of four other Orangemen. One is Al's. If you look above Ernie's autograph in my avatar, you can see part of Al Bemiller's.

The 9 year old boy in me who has cherished those signatures for 62 years mourns for the loss of one of "my guys"

RIP Al.

A very underrated player.

I saw him play in War Memorial Stadium against the KC Chiefs in 1969. It was the first time I ever saw a professional football game - the old AFL.

My dad pointed him out to me and told me that he was a great player who played in the 1959 National Championship team.

RIP Al Bemiller.

Sad news.

On a related note, Al B. Sure!, is still alive and kicking.
