BTW, the song was written by Mickey Newberry, who had suffered a fractured spine and had been hallucinating on the painkillers they gave him. That was the inspiration for the song. Glen Campbell played guitar on the track, and it was produced by Mike Post, who went on to write many TV theme songs, including the one for Law & Order
