Just heard from my niece then confirmed via a text from Brent Axe that the Cuse sports talk legend “Steve in North Syracuse“ passed away today.

SWC is gone

SWC died last night (3/17) at 9:30. Steve passed as he had wished. He fell asleep and didn't wake up. For the past few weeks, there has been some discomfort but no significant pain. He has been in and out of sleep for the last several days.

Great tribute by Axe for SWC75. I am also grateful to see that Jim Boeheim called Steve while in hospice care. Jimmy gets a lot of gruff for his demeanor but he has a great heart. I am sure that call meant the world to Steve. Just bummer all around. Cancer sucks
