Brinkley cleared to play
Turner said running back Curtis Brinkley passed all the neurological exams required after a player is diagnosed with a concussion, as Brinkley was after making some spectacular plays in his long-awaited chance to play.
“It’s a great feeling to pass a test like that, just because of how much I want to be out there,” said Brinkley. “This happening, after all I’d gone through to get out there, I was like, Oh, man?”
Brinkley, an undrafted free agent who survived an attack soon after signing with the Chargers in 2009 and still carries one of three bullets that struck him, entered the game as a late replacement for the injured Mathews and was a major contributor to the game-tying drive in the fourth quarter. He caught a 20-yard pass to set up his own diving 2-yard score, then carried four times for 21 yards in the ill-fated drive that ended in a fumble and overtime loss.

Donovan McNabb loved to throw bounce passes (As a point guard at Syracuse that was fine. As an NFL quarterback it wasn't).

Strong safety Steve Gregory pointed out that not all of Rivers’ turnovers have been mistakes. “Sometimes it is just the way the ball bounces,” Gregory said. “He has had some unlucky things happen so far. There are things that are not necessarily his fault. He will be fine. He knows what he is doing out there.”
Even when there are mistakes, Jackson said he appreciates Rivers’aggressive nature. “I think he has always had that,” Jackson said. “I would much rather have a guy who is willing to go out there and pull the trigger and make plays then someone who is gun shy, which he isn’t.”
Gregory agrees, “You would rather have a guy who is willing to give it a hundred percent. You have to be willing to fail if you want to succeed.”
