If Virginia wants him they will get him. Did he watch the game the other night? Bennett gets his players wide open shots. Everything we get is contested or forced.

Nope. UVa is out on Justin. They got their #1 target and it wasn’t JT.

This would certainly seem like good news for us.

Can’t they take more than one guard?

They have limited spots and the plan was to only take one guy at that spot. At least according to that article. If he waits and hopes for someone else to leave so he can go there, he is taking an awful risk and might lose his chance to go to Syracuse, where he has been our top priority at SG for a long time now.

He was never UVA’s top priority. That should matter. At this point, the smart move is to take the SU offer and make UVa pay for liking that WV kid more.

Hazy Guard Picture

St. Anne’s Belfield guard Justin Taylor is the only other recipient of a 2022 offer so far. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out with him going forward. Isaac McKneely’s commitment definitely complicates things. Both were essentially being recruited for one spot. Virginia obviously has built in advantages with the Charlottesville native. And the coaching staff likes him a lot. But they also have other needs and limited space right now. It might depend on how things shake out with potential transfers.

Buddy 2.0. It will be nice to get our next 39mpg volume shooter guard this early in the cycle!

Does anyone know if we’re looking at him as a SG? Would we take both he and Ty Rodgers?

Agreed a class of
PG-Copeland
SG-Taylor
SF-Rodgers
C-Riley

is very realistic as of now. Also would make some noise because that’s a great haul.
Things simmering in the Huntley-Hatfield front?
