Class of 2025 SF Shon Abaev (FL) Offered

Amen. Not sure why folks are crapping on Cincy. Yeah, Shon took a ton of visits. That's his right. Cincy is unbeaten, in the top 20, and in a great bball league. Tillery is headed there as well...
The top of their class rivals ours, I would say. I think Red will be sorry he missed on Tillery.

Yeah, I didn't have inside intel on Tillery, but I will always wonder whether SU backed off or he wasn't super interested in 'Cuse.

Ya never know. I remember JB was told by Wayne Morgan to pass on, I believe, Rolando Blackmon.
SU recruited Boo Harvey hard, and “settled” for Sherm.
Beauty and Beholder stuff.

Respect to Buddy and Cole for hanging around the NBA fringe. Who successfully have we put in the NBA for any extended period since Jerami Grant? Ennis a little bit, but no one else. Track record for producing NBA players for Syracuse is basically none for the last ten years.
Chicken or the egg?

If you recruit top talent players, you get guys into the NBA.

We went almost a decade without a single class even ranked honorable mention in the RSCI rankings.

The top talent we did get was guys like Mintz, who had certain elite skills, but not NBA bodies or talent.

We'll see how Freeman, Moore, White and Anthony do in the next decade. I bet all of them have more productive NBA careers than Buddy Boeheim.

I hope you are correct. I agree the roster has been void of NBA talent for a long time. My comment was in regard to the kid going to Cincinnati and having a better path to the league through Syracuse.

8 years since Tyler Lydon was our last first rounder. It will be nice to see Freeman and White join that Melo Center wall.

Two (related) questions:

1) How did UC become a Jordan Brand school before us?
2) Do they have a better NIL game than us? If so, how?
How does UC have a better NIL game than SU? Really? They have 53,000 students, 155,000 alumni living in the Cincinnati area and major corporation s like Procter & Gamble, Kroger and Cintas headquartered in Cincinnati. Cincinnati has 21 companies with over 10,000 employees.
They also have their own beer created specifically to support NIL at UC:

It's mostly the beer!

Meanwhile, we have a McCord potato chip.

We really should get on the beer train, it's so easy, and we do have some serious local brewers who I bet would jump at the chance to be the face of the Orange.

Then there is 1911...

It does, at times, feel like we aren't even really trying.

Meier’s Creek literally brews an NIL Pilsner that they sell at the dome.
