it might take a generation to start thinking of Onondaga Lake as a lake and not an industrial waste cesspool that the county dumps treated waste into, not to mention sewage overflow when it rains hard. I'm all for a beach but count me out as someone that would dip a toe in that water.

Boooo fun hater! the scientists are pretty sure the water is clean enough to swim in, is that not enough for you? ;)

Is Onondaga Lake finally clean enough to swim in? NY state, scientists think so

yeah, it's going to take a generation or folks moving to the 'cuse without knowing the history of the lake. I don't deny the science and I'm not against a beach at all, I would likely go there. But still not dipping a toe in that water

A tenuous grasp on the understanding of water displacement and/or the scale of the oceans is what we have here.

    Brilliant.
