There has been some discussion about weddings on football Saturdays, and unfortunately I have one today. Not really close to either party but I have to go. I won't be there long, but it will be in Ann Arbor and I'll miss the TV broadcast. I'll stream the radio broadcast while driving down but I came up with a brilliant idea.

For the past two years, I've worn hearing aids. As an aside, after being in The Loud House for the Purdue game last year, my ears were ringing for 4 days.

But I digress...

So, the hearing aids have Bluetooth built-in so I can stream music from my phone to them if I want to. They sort of can function like headphones that way. That also means I can stream the radio broadcast of the game to them. So while the bride and groom exchange vows, I'll be listening to the WAER kids call the game on low volume and nobody around me will be the wiser. I just have to pretend to be paying attention to the wedding ceremony and avoid getting vocal if we score.

I know that some of you are saying "gee Dick, that is really inappropriate and immature."

Thank you. I'm so proud.

BTW, General Sherman Douglas 41, Colonel Sherman Potter 7.

I can see you yelling loudly “No” “How the hell do you let that happen”, etc., just when vows are being exchanged.

Fortunately, we don’t need to leave the house until 5:15 to attend a wedding today.

I did have to assemble some furniture, but was able to watch the game.

Next week will be 100% football and home tailgating. :)

I am on the edge of getting hearing aids, but have stubbornly resisted.
This brilliant idea may make me change my strategy.

Strangely, even though I live in VA, I have a wedding to go to in Ann Arbor area next Saturday. Really need an option for the Clemson - Cuse game.

It struck me that this was a little too close to something that George Costanza would’ve tried to do.

Still, I’m happy to report that it worked like a charm.
Did you cry at the wedding - when Army scored their opening TD?
