So is this the biggest posted spread ever for SU?

Rutgers and their 1940s offense beat them by 59 so I am not surprised by the spread, they are that bad. Then again, Dino is a good guy and Shady was probably running flea flickers in the 4th quarter

Yeah, this.

Why we won't cover is - Dino isn't a Dee-bag.

He will definitely call of the dogs early in the 2nd half, and at some point we're gonna have 3rd string and walk-ons in there, and mostly be handing it off.

I think we still win by 5+ TD's, but it ain't gonna be by 8.
Something like 49-10.

possible, but I think even calling off the dogs and putting in hamsters will result in a win by 50 at least. hell, even a Shafer team beat these guys by 50, and things haven't changed for Wagner since!

Does this mean sutomcat's all-star syracusefan.com's board poster team will be playing the fourth quarter?

Recently we had some -45 and we have had -35s But I dont have any -55 in my records. Althought finding spreads in the 50-60s is really hard.
Yeah probably biggest spread because Wagner is really bad and SU during the McNabb years never scheduled FCS teams that I recall, that would produce a spread this large.

I didn’t realize Wagner has lost 24 games in a row going back to 2019. Even with just playing 2 games in the Covid season, that is brutal

I don’t care if we play third stringers all game, no excuse for not covering or almost covering, this opponent is absolutely awful

Playing our starters at all in this game, is Stephen . Austin versus Warner level bad.

Nope.
They need work too, otherwise it'll be THREE WEEKS since their last game action, going against NCST.

Now, IF any starters are in beyond maybe the first series or 2 to start the 2nd half, then I'm giving Dino at al side-eye.

Apparently the coaching staff is introducing some new wrinkles into the run O, and we definitely want the first stringers to get several series to try that all out at game speed.

Normally, I would agree. But, this Wagner team is really bad; more like a Div II or III team, than a FCS team. Nothing useful to be gained by playing the starters. Players are fine in bowl games with several weeks of layoff.

I love the report of new wrinkles being tried - this is the week to experiment. And hopefully this provides enough "data" for them to give NC St some new looks in 2 weeks.

I just don't want to see any dives up the middle. We know the O-line can get a push against Wagner. This game should be treated like a glorified practice since they're essentially playing West Geneseee or Solvay-level athletes.

I can't imagine any of the REAL new stuff will be showcased or even practiced against Wagner. Why do that? I get the whole game speed thing. But if Wagner is that bad, can’t we simulate game speed almost just as well in practice 1s v 2s? Why tip your hand to NCSt?

There's a delicate balance. Some things can't be simulated in practice. I'd imagine they'd hold out some stuff. Would be great to see a reignited ground game similar to what happened at Duke a couple years back.

55 is a lot of points. Dino is willing to put up 60 but will he club a baby seal if it’s 48-0 going into the 4th?

If the plan is to play CDRW the balance of the game I could see it.

They will probably run the ball a lot at that point Can Wagner stop the backups is likely the question

I don't see Dino ever running up a score on any team. Shitano can't help himself it's in his NJ chemically destroyed DNA.

Yeah, I'm looking at something like 45-17, because we'll be resting most starters by the 3rd qtr at the latest.

Never have I seen a P5 not play starters in FCS games. Just isn’t going to happen . 1st team will play minimally the 1s half.

They came here to play football and they only get so many games. Most of these guys will never play again after college is over. You can’t just sit guys for an entire game because the other team is bad. That would be a quick way for a coach to make all your good players hate you, and all of the good ones you’re recruiting to not take you seriously and look elsewhere.

I thought they didn't post point spreads for FBS vs. FCS games. Is this a new thing?
