Let’s put the press on for a sellout.
Exciting team
Friday Night
Good (not marquee) opponent

Let’s get some of those twitter/instagram of Famous Orange Alumni hyping the game like NCState 2 years ago. Should be doable.

Decent Friday night games have always done rather well I think? I agree though should be doable

Since joining the ACC:

BC last year we had 42,523 announced.
2022 UVA had 34,590
2021 Liberty 29,942
2019 Pitt 44,886
2018 Louisville 42,797
2017 Central Conn 30,273
2017 Clemson 42,475
2016 Colgate 31,336
2016 Louisville 32,184
2015 Rhode Island 30,112
2014 Nova 41,189
2014 Louisville 37,569

Long story short, who the heck knows. Since the Clemson game, the conference games have generally done pretty well outside of UVA.

You can't give High school kids tickets.

We can't give high school kids tickets either since most of us are boosters.

We are not even supposed to talk with kids if we think there is a chance they are being looked at by SU if you don't have a prior connection.

Once a kid becomes recruitable the rules change.

Great thought, but most high school teams play Friday nights.
around Syracuse its about 60/40 Friday to sat games. probably more to sat once you leave the city and the smaller schools who don't have lights.

No but you have to think those are the families who like football and would buy tickets if they didn’t have anything going on.

I remember that 2011 West Virginia game under Marrone on Friday night was a huge crowd as well

We have had some big games on Fridays for sure. But that UVA game is really throwing me off. There was renewed optimism for 2022. Tucker for Heisman. A 3-0 start including beating up on a decent Louisville team and an exciting win over a pretty good Purdue team. Yet that UVA game barely outdrew the Wagner game the next week.

I also think looking at that list of games Stanford is more like UVA than the other teams we played. They are not a traditional rival or a name to draw people in. I do think it will be the largest crowd of the season thus far, but I am not sure that we sell out.

Difference is, some people still think that Stanford is in the Andrew Luck days and a solid program

Couple that with a school we’ve never played before.

Add on that we just beat a top 24 team

And then make it a prime time game that’s an event

I have a feeling this one sells out or gets really close to a sell out.

It also helps that Stanford is bringing a decent amount of fans

VT and Miami will sell out if we are sitting on 0, 1, or 2 losses and the offense is still playing like it has.

Maybe UConn as well in the a stretch.

This could be a throw back to 92 or 98. If it is, that’s when you honor P.

Going to be a little tough for UConn/Miami as all of the students are gone for both of those games.

It will be interesting to see SU’s strategy on that
