It’s just an added layer on complications when you have a situation where you want Wax and Peña both on the punt return team.

Peña fair caught the punt inside the 5 because his mind was not in the game situation because he had to scramble to get his #98 jersey.

It’s also why Jackson was deep on one punt.

I get that it’s an honor to have a single digit jersey, but it’s not worth the chaos.

Sounds like a nice question for the next 1-800-ASK-DINO show.

SWC, get on this !!

On several punts in the last few games, by the time the ball falls into Peña’s hands, there are already at least a few of the opposing team’s players behind him so I’m assuming that he is thinking that a fair catch is better than risking an even worse spot.

It’s a matter of a yard or two at best - and there’s a chance the ball goes into the end zone. I don’t see it

Fair catching punts inside the 10 yard line is driving me crazy. We seem to be the only team that regularly does this. Send at the 10 and if you have to step back to catch it, don't! Draw the gunners away from the ball by moving 5 to 10 yards forward and to the side and look like you're going to catch it.
BTW, this has nothing to do with Pena having to put on his big brother's jersey, which is also stupid.

You can decoy them away. It actually worked last week on one of the punts and the Pitt guy even drilled the PR and picked up a 15 yarder. It wasn't Pena on that one.

Either don't have two people with the same number, or don't have both play on the same unit. That being said how do some of these single digit guys, have single digit numbers? They haven't shown enough by any means.

Frankly single digit numbers (or any number) carrying some significance that has to be earned is stupid.

Today's exercise...

107 players, 99 numbers.

Can't use 44.

Eligible receivers have to have eligible numbers.

Don't give DB's numbers in the 50's to 70's.

Make it work:

We literally pay people to do this. None of us should have to. We could start by not giving guys who will never be eligible receivers numbers that need to be used by eligible receivers.

Yep more stupidity….especially when watching your head coach struggling to get the kids jersey off.
Phat you did it! you found his game day calling
