Thank you for compiling these lists. It is absolutely amazing how few of these players amounted to anything on the court after leaving Syracuse.

Didn’t Michael Lloyd transfer out?

he dropped out when the ncaa questioned his eligibility then declared for the draft but ended up playing overseas some I think.

I remember a guy from Canada who came in with John Karpis named Roger Rollocks. Not sure if he ever took the court here but I remember his picture in an SU basketball yearbook. Not sure if he transferred out or just left

Same for Devin Brennan-McBride and Dashawn Wright - did they transfer or just leave?

I don't think he ever enrolled

mcbride had a shoulder injury that caused him to quit and never played again. Wright dropped out and tried to go to a smaller school but didn’t get in academically and never played again.

Fred Saunders was a student gym teacher when I was in middle school in East Syracuse. It was so cool when this 6’8” star was pitching slow pitch softball to us!

i feel like I remember him in uniform pics though.

edit: The 10 great What-If teams in Syracuse basketball history

this a cuse jersey?

yes that’s him but he never played and I don’t think he was even enrolled but he did go to practices and watched while he waited on the ncaa decision. I used to watch practice when he was here and he’d sit on the sidelines for the most part. I think he may have even been in the team picture.

Wow, thanks for pulling this together. I have been thinking about this very subject for the last few days, but (for reasons that are almost entirely due to my age) focused on the Hughes/Duncan/Roe triumvirate. It really does put the last 72 hours or so in perspective. We've lost some good players over the years, but no world beaters. And it's entirely possible -- if not probable -- that Kadary ends up in that group, as opposed to an absolute monster elsewhere. Yes, I am bummed about Kadary's decision (and Braswell's to a lesser extent), since both would have objectively made the team better next year. But I'm at at least comforted by the program's history in knowing that, while it feels like the sky is falling now, we could be looking back on these last few days and not paying them much mind in a few years. At least that's what I'm telling myself ...

Orangehoops.org tracks these lists yearly, including compiling stats post-transfer:

how come those lists look so much bigger than mine? Lol.

how come those lists look so much bigger than mind? Lol.

Because they have White and Thorpe listed twice?

We were the 3rd stop on their tours.

And OrangeHoops lists walkons.
