Can JAB call a TO?. Will JAB tell his players to foul before Duke goes for a three? (if my understanding is correct, JAB used to be defend the three instead of fouling in that situation now he said he wanted a foul). Anyway I'm yelling as many others were "to foul" as Duke inbounds. Looked like CJ either wiffed at half court or ref wasn't going to call it. Then withabout 2 seconds to go Cooney has shooter about 10 to 15 feet from top of key but decides to gaurd the player instead of going for ball/foul.

He could have called the TO if he told the ref he wanted one after a make, but it all depends on how quickly Duke got the ball in. I honestly don't remember how quickly they put it back in play. If they took their time he could have called for one, but honestly, if he wanted a TO he should have told the ref before the second FT that he wanted one contingent on a make.

No need for a timeout in that spot if a coach has prepared the team for such situations. The players should know the philosophy in that spot, which it appeared that C.J. did. He just whiffed on the foul attempt, and neither Cooney nor Ennis wanted to foul once the ball crossed half court in case a shot attempt went up. Ennis's foul in the same spot in overtime shows that the players know the game plan without needing a timeout to remind them.

Exactly, plus Duke had 0 timeouts left. Why risk them setting up a play?
