SU vs Virginia (67-70): Sun Feb 2, 12 PM

I have found Coach's substitutions to be head scratcher all season. Not knowing if players are injury, bad practice or just not in coaches favor but feels like less rotation. I worry that those players may hit the portal.
I have not been able to see any rhyme or reason to coach's substitutions all season. It's like she's picking names out of a hat, truly.

It’s so tough to know the reasons when it’s not addressed in interviews, we’re not privy to practices, the coach‘s philosophy on earning playing time and when press coverage is so sketchy. I wish there was a beat reporter specifically for women’s basketball. It’s the old chicken or the egg conundrum - no beat reporter because there’s the belief that there’s a lack of interest or there’s a lack of interest because there’s little press coverage providing interesting info to spark interest. I know the newspaper media is hurting financially and constantly cutting costs but SU is a huge school for journalism - why not get a part timer student for either the PS from that pool or let SU assign a student part timer to provide coverage.

Alack.
Bad loss in a "should have could have" game. Coaches like and encourage it, but sometimes that extra pass is one too many. Can't count the number of good drives to the basket for a layup that ended as a turnover in an attempt to dump it to someone else. Take the shot when it's there or get fouled.

Coach Jack must have seen a lot of JB's games and certainly liked his zone, but seems to neglect doubling the ball in the corner. The opportunities are there countless times in almost every game.

Eh, To be fair, the daily orange has a beat reporter (women's basketball Archives - The Daily Orange), there is a Coaches Show every Monday with Tim Leonard (radio), and there are weekly interviews with Jack on ESPN Radio with Brian Higgins (radio/podcasts). There is way more coverage now then there ever has been.

Thank you. Do they video the Tim Leonard radio show? I will start watching Brian Higgins YouTube videos of his podcast. Sorry I don’t listen to radio much. Thank you OX for posting the Daily Orange articles. It’s great for the fans of the team and students of SU. I guess I was thinking of tv, newspaper coverage that reaches the bigger audience of the curious but not yet connected we’d like to turn into fans.
