Ohio State will get Buffalo, will syracuse or pitt get Buffalo? will syracuse or pitt get NYC?

Even if we have one less win than Pitt at the end of conference , and lost at Pitt, we would still get a higher seed. The OOC matters. And the committee (usually) looks down at cupcake schedules. Plus we have Nova and Baylor on our resume.

My point probably holds for two less wins as well - but than of course the 1 seed would seem to be out of the question

pitt will need a lot of help to beat us in buffalo.

and it starts (and would end) with beating us twice (maybe 3x).

they could be a 6 or 7 seed at 15-1 right now. they may as well be in the southern conference.

The Pitt game at home is very big. We have a harder Acc schedule than they do IMO. They get to play Duke, Va and FSU at home, we play all three on the road plus Duke at home. We have to hold court against them.

Don't fall into the same trap I do with Pitt . Usually this time of the year they are 14-1 and I am never impressed. They are still Pitt I say. But then they play us and they either beat us or scare the crap out of us.
Then, I become impressed. I think this is they year they finally pull something off in the NCAA and THUD!

What? Is Pitt even in top 25? How would they get a number 1 seed over us if we keep doing what we do? C'mon man

Why is ohio st in buffalo while were fighting Pitt for it?

We're undefeated and have an easier schedule the rest of the way. In terms of odds, were a much better bet for buffalo than OSU is.

And Pitt? Let's see them beat a legit team before we start talking about buffalo.

We already have more top 50 wins than Pitt has on their entire schedule. What seeds go through buffalo/nyc? Unless they win the acc pitts ceiling is a 3 or 4 seed.

So an unranked team is going to get preferential placement over the undefeated #2 team in the country?

Yeah seems legit.

Couldn't OSU just as easily go to Milwaukee or St Louis?

Look at Ohio State and Pitt's non-conference schedules. NO WAY are we fighting them. We are fighting Pitt for the regular season ACC title that is it. Pitt's resume is not worthy of a top 16 seed in the S-Curve yet. If Syracuse splits with Pitt their is honestly no way Pitt can pass us without Syracuse spitting the bit themselves. Ohio State has wins over @Marquette, Notre Dame-MSG, Maryland. No way are they a lock. Jerry Palm who is as good as anybody has Ohio State as a 4 seed right now which is where their current resume dictates they should be.

Pitt's biggest problem is that right now it doesn't look like anyone's ACC schedule is very high on the degree of difficulty chart and their OOC schedule generally sucked.

I'm talking about playing in the garden, not Pitt getting a number one seed. Pitt should finish in the very top of the league and the league won't be getting a lot of teams in the tourney, so it's important to at least split with Pitt. The committee won't have both of us play in the garden. If they sweep us and have the same or better league record than us they could grab that regional (conceivably). It's better to just beat their rears and leave no doubt.

For Pitt to be in the East region it will require Syracuse falling on their face. Our non-conference resume was an A/A+, Pitt's non-conference resume was C+/B-. If we split with them in the ACC regular season and go 14-4 Pitt would probably have to go 16-2 AND win the ACC conference tournament to get ahead of Syracuse. Pitt isn't a threat to overtake us unless Syracuse falls on its face. Pitt's best non-conference wins are against Penn State, Stanford, Houston compare that to Villanova, Indiana, Minnesota, California, and Baylor. Pitt won't have many chances for big wins in the ACC as Duke/UNC are both down. Pitt doesn't play at Duke and if Syracuse splits with them then I can't see them passing us unless we go 12-6/13-5.

SU doesn't have to fall on it's face to lose the garden, it only has to lose the #1 seed. And if Pitt sweeps us all bets are off. They could play in the garden with a worse seed. That's all I'm saying. Beat Pitt @ home and Buff/NYC will look better.

I don't think Pitt can get the #1 seed at MSG over us BUT they can keep SU from getting it. If they beat us twice they have a very good shot at winning the ACC regular season. They have a weaker unbalanced schedule. If we don't win the ACC it's unlikely we would get a #1 seed especially MSG. Our big competition for that slot is actually Michigan State or possibly Ohio St. Wisky has the inside track to winning the B1G because they don't have to play road games at either MSU or OSU. Michigan St could well be a strong enough B1G 1A to get awarded a #1 seed and kicked out to MSG. It's really important for us to beat Pitt in the Dome and win the ACC.

Don't sugar coat it for him.

From sources (not saying it's Marsh), there might be a handshake agreement to place OSU as 1 seed in the East, and SU as a 1 in Southeast to capitalize on ACC TV ratings. Shhh...

We aren't fighting anyone for the 1 seed in the easy as of now its ours. They are fighting to catch us an be able to fight us for it.

Should this be made public so early?
