BUT, if you go further into the movie to the scene I think after his grandfather died and he visits his grandfather's house, there is a montage of newspaper articles about him that his grandfather put on the wall. One of the newspaper articles on the wall has a headline of the correct score of the game -- Syracuse 20 Penn St. 18.
