Syracuse punt return specialist will be open competition in preseason

So has Estime actually qualified? I'm very much looking forward to seeing him out there returning kicks or punts, whichever. If he's as fast and quick as advertised, he almost HAS to play on special teams this year, right?

If he can catch.

Does that guarantee that he's qualified?

Summer session II begins on July 1.

He tweeted on June 15th that he's only got 13 more days in Florida.

If memory serves, I think there have been rare instances when someone was in the directory and then disappeared.

I thought Desir did enough positive stuff that if he wins the job we're ok, and if someone beats him out that's good too.

Yep. I'm sure we could do better with someone more explosive, but we could also do a lot worse. There's an experienced safety valve if we need it.

My standards on punt return are pretty low these days. If I know the guy will at least move forward, I'll take it.

The difference between Rene and Desir clearly seemed to be one of desire. Rene was sticking his hand up before the punter made contact with the ball. Desir always tried to make something of each return and broke one for 33 yards. You've just got to have the "want to", (and coaches who want guys who have it).

Estime's video was impressive for speed and moves but moreso for strength. You've got to be willing to take on people. He looks like a good defensive backfield prospect, too. LSU's Honey Badger was about the same size, (5-10 185 vs. 5-9 185 for Estime). I wonder if Brisley will be SU's "Honey Badger". Maybe he should be the "Syrup Badger" or the "Salt Badger"?

Salt Badger. As arbiter of nicknaming, I decree that Estime shall henceforth be known as Salt Badger.

Wow. Talk about another possibility staring me in the face.

The best move here is to keep Thick Badger in our back pockets, which sounds terrifying, but SWC nailed it with Salt Badger.

Can Wayne Morgan be thick badger? I would like to see him back returning kicks or possibly Alvin Cornelius. Broyld would be scary for gunners to try and contain and/or tackle or perhaps Morris to get some more touches returning kicks. We've got some serious options to be honest.

I like Wayne Morgan as Thick Badger. Done.

Wait, that badger is naked. Isn't that a direct violation of the Google image rules?!

My life is now one minute and 14 seconds shorter with nothing to show for it. :(
Sorry about that! But hey your 'badger' mention reminded me of that viral classic. :)

I think we're ok because you can't see it's undercarriage. The badger very well be wearing pants.

Take a minute off of that and now you know how my girlfriend feels after we get it on. Consider yourself lucky. :)
