It appeared to me it was caused by a bad snap from center, and was not so much Mahoney's fault. The snap was high and to his left, and by the time he was able to bring it down and secure it, the RB ran into him looking for the exchange. Several other snaps in that series were also way off-target.
I had a poor internet feed and couldn't see the number on the C - Sam Heckel perhaps? This is one of those things he needs to work on because a bad snap, totally disrupts the rhythm of the play. Yes, it was mop-up duty, but there will likely be situations where the 2nd team C is in the game in more meaningful situations.
