The coaches poll needs to be involved in determining the MNC

Brett beliama voted 7-5 Oklahoma St in the top 10, while not including Oklahoma at all.

5 big 12 coaches voted OU 6th (6 spots above their BCS rank) and NIU 24th (9 spots below their BCS rank) in an apparent attempt to box NIU out of the bcs.

It sure is a good thing they reduced the influence of the silly computers in favor of the far sharper minds that are actually involved in football.

I bet if you check the coaches in the SEC they have their top 5-10 as all SEC teams. This nonsense has been going on since inception. Honest coaches will vote their conscience. Coaches that want to skew things their way will vote their team first, conference second and opponents third.

I always get a kick out of the "throw away" votes. Coaches that vote for a random team in order to not give certain teams/conferences votes. It's like watching Chicago politics every Sunday afternoon, what dead guy voted for team X?

This statement is a little naive. All that happens next year is the top 4 teams get matched up instead of the top 2. The polls will still heavily influence who is in the top 4. This year KState would have been left out. The more teams in a playoff the less impact the polls will have.
