(I listened to the radio broadcast of this game while watching the big football games on TV Saturday night. Then, after NFL Red Zone was off the air today, I watched the streaming video of the game on Orange All-Access, which, fortunately worked properly.)
- Matt Park was trying to explain, early in his broadcast, why Binghamton could not compete with Syracuse but he kept getting rudely interrupted by Bearkat baskets as they scored 11 unanswered points to take an 8 point lead. This was a team that was 3-27 a year ago. 3 and 27 and we are behind 3-11 to this team. Looking at it on the video, it didn’t seem as bad as it did imagining it on the radio. Rakeem Christmas didn’t get to a loose ball and drew Boeheim’s ire. Tyler Ennis strangely missed all three free throws when fouled on a three pointer. Binghamton hit three treys in a row. But we weren’t just standing around. JB went to the press and Cooney started hitting threes and everything was just fine.
- Tyler Ennis’ run of great games ended tonight. His opening three was followed by no points, no rebounds, (which he had been doing well for a guard),3 assists but 4 fouls, which limited him to 19 minutes. Hopefully he’ll start another run of great games against St. John’s
- Baye Moussa Keita in 13 minutes had two stats: a block and foul. In the last five games he’s played 70 minutes and has 8 points and 4 rebounds. A 6-10 guys with 4 rebounds in 70 minutes. What’s with this guy? He’s never been a huge stat guy but he’s giving us nothing.
- BJ Johnson is a very talented young player who just can’t seem to get anything going yet. He was 0 for 5 tonight, all from three, making him 1 for 12 on the year, (4 for 17 overall). It’s just not his year. Someday, though….
