Last night towards the end of the game, I made a comment in jest, that I will be entering the fan transfer portal after the game. To be clear I have zero interest in cheering for anybody else or against Syracuse. And my interest in College Basketball is way down, so I'm not seeking a new team.

If anything what has already started "transferring" is my attention away from Syracuse and college basketball -- and transferring to other sport teams or other non sports items in my life -- and its been more than just a couple of years. I don't look forward to many Syracuse games anymore, and have missed following many of them this year. Had to be close to 10 games this year, where I realized late after game start, or after the game, or even the next day that we had just played a game.

I just want a season where Syracuse games are somewhat relevant again. Where we are relevant again in the national picture. Heck even the NCAA tournament.

When things start to go bad it really bothers you at first... but its getting far removed from that point of being bothered, to where its now apathy for me anyway. And that's a scary thing in the NIL world, where you need fan momentum and attention ... it's a dangerous cycle.

This reminds me of a Colin Cowherd segment from years back. Fans could call in, tell him who they rooted for, and he would award them a new team.

I really applaud those of you that watched hoops this season. I want those 10 minutes of my life back. Finally learned my lesson after nearly 30 years of fandom.

Lol I didn't.

I'm an idiot.

I can relate. It was frustrating as we were sliding, more so that when people made logical arguments that it was happening, the orange colored glasses crowd simply told everyone to "Move on. Nothing to see here. Everything is normal." Then I started checking out a few years ago as it continued to accelerate and it was obvious the effort needed to turn the ship was not being put forth. Now, as we reach GRob level dysfunction, I just can't prioritize SU basketball games and, therefore, don't care all that much about college basketball. And since I don't care much for the NBA, I guess I'm becoming a full on football guy.

I checked out pretty early. I suck. Literally the worst team in my lifetime though. I’m only 32. The worst team in double my lifetime?

I was a real box score reader this season.

I still was entertained and I still cheer hard. I have been gifted too much joy to turn my back from the team when things don't go our way
I only have so many decades left to cheer for a team who isn't terrible.

1000 loves if I could. The "orange colored glasses crowd" you refer to, I have called "the usual suspects" over these years. The barrage of, let's just say, intentional shade, that those folks threw around, well...here we are today. Unfortunately, some of us (still around) aren't really surprised one iota.

This is me.

Time to return to the Big East!!!

This is me.
For the first time in my adolescent, adult and now senior life (I hit 60 already this year) I did not fill out a bracket.I have watched or listened to about 2 hours in total so far of the tourney. My Saturday yesterday was concentrating on the NHL games (playoff picture for NY Rangers) and college lacrosse (SYR and Boston U, the 2 schools I have degrees). Today, it will be SYR women's lacrosse and the men's hockey selection show that I will pay attention. To make a long story short, if SYR is not relevant in men's basketball I am not paying attention. I have little to zero interest.

It really has nothing to do with what conference we are in. We would have finished at the bottom of the Big East as well given our team this year.

We need a complete culture change. Until that happens its not going to magically change just because we have melos kid and white coming in next season who may or may not move the needle.

Drake took a division 2 roster (albeit solid players), brought their coach with them, added a few key pieces and whammo success.

I love Red but just dont see it getting better next season. I would have ripped the bandaid off post JB and went in a different direction a la like we did for football.

And its the ncaa tournament. The best sporting event we have as fans (and dont try to argue its not). As much as it sucks not being in it you watch. At least the first 4 days anyways.

Simplistically, the college game is now professionally paid amateurs who aren't nearly as good as the NBA pros. I don't see how/when there will be a correction to the system, but until then it's a chaotic minefield with no reasonable rules or guidelines.

The team manager who carries the boombox for McNeese entered the transfer portal after they were eliminated and is heading to NC State. The system is beyond broken and I only occasionally watch these days. Didn’t fill out a bracket. The NBA has more consistent rosters and storylines.

The only time I stopped watching any Orange sport was during the Robinson football years. The basketball team was frustrating this year—but not that frustrating. It's my school. I'm all into lacrosse now.

Feels the same for me, and it helps that my Pistons are respectable this year.

Along with consistent rosters/stories, the efficiency in the NBA is great to see after watching abysmal performances by the Cuse.
