1) Kentucky: 2052 wins, 7 NCAA championships
2) Kansas 2038 wins, 3 NCAA championships
3) North Carolina 2033 wins, 5 NCAA championships
4) Duke 1944 wins, 4 NCAA championships
5) Syracuse 1810 wins, 1 NCAA championship

Here the top five winningest major college coaches of all time:

1) Mike Krzyzewski 927 wins, 4 NCAA championships
2) Bobby Knight 902 wins, 3 NCAA championships
3) Jim Boeheim 887 wins, 1 NCAA championship
4) Dean Smith 876 wins, 2 NCAA championships
5) Adolph Rupp 876 wins, 4 NCAA championships

Just sayin'

I learned here today that the post season doesn't mean anything. We are still great and a top team even if we lose in the 2nd round as a 1 seed.

FT shooting in '87 and the injury to AO in '10 are the only thing keeping us from adding two more titles to the tally -- hopefully we add one in '12

I also learned cool stuff today and it really helped me interpret SWC75's post. I learned that everything that happens before the NCAA tournament is irrelevant and the only way to keep score is by national championships. Now I know for sure that JB is only half the coach that Dean Smith was and 1/3 the coach that Bob Knight was. All this math is making my head hurt, so I better take a rest now.

All I meant is that it seems maybe we're due to add to the total.

Having only one NCAA sticks out like a zit on prom night.

We need this.

I wasn't taking a shot at you or your post, SWC75. My words were directed at posters who believe anything short of a national championship is a failed season.

Your thoughtful and informative posts are always appreciated and help make this board a truly unique place for SU sports fans. Thanks!

It sticks out because its in bold. :p

But I agree with ya, we need to add more to be talked about with the other elite teams with multiple championships.
