The Official: Dion Waiters Should Start Petition

I'm all over this. Scoop isn't getting it done. Dion "freight train" Waiters is focused and hungry, not complacent, lazy and slow like his older cousin.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Dion seems to have found his role of game changer off the bench. I'm fine with it.

Dion is playing well off the bench. He is getting plenty of playing time. Is a integral part of the team. No need to start him. Has a history of being a headcase. Leave well enough alone.

It's not who starts...its who finishes that counts. Love the offensive spark he gives us.

Dion is more valuable coming off the bench and changing the pace of play.

A couple more slow starts and you have to seriously consider it. If Scoop continues to come in with no sense of urgency we will really get buried early by the really good teams. Our halfcourt offense is not good with Scoop. It's not good in general but Waiters can break down the D

Funny. People bitch about scoop when he does not score. Today he has 14 points, second leading scorer in the game, going 5-9 from the field and 2-2 from 3-point line and had 5 steals. What is it that people want. Looks likme a pretty solid performance to me.

Box Scores Lie.

It is broke.

We have some serious halfcourt offensive issues. By making Dion (the guy who is tied for our best scorer coming off the bench it doesn't help).

Not good chemistry to start off slow and come flying back. Better to get a lead and play aggressive D and get a bigger one.

Triche and Dion played awesome today down the stretch! They finally got one hand extended in the zone also and that flustered the stanford guards some.

KJO and Dion are our best two all around players.

Im with you time for JB to stop playing. Scoop is a trick play guy Dion is a guy you can ride. And once Dion and KJO get going Triches job will be easier.

Fact is we need all 3 of them. I'd like Waiters to start eating some of their minutes though--the more he's on the floor the better.

You need Dion's energy off the bench. Its nice having a guy who can change the energy of game when its not going right. The guy is going to get plenty of minutes.

We need energy to start right not. You don't play back into games you start off winning them. KJO and Dion get hot early and Triche will get his next.

We need guys we can ride right now not guys who can score on a hustle play like Scoop.

Scoop is good for a iq understanding his role basket. Thats what 6th men do build momenutum. Dion can do that but he also can be ridden in a isolation offense. Something we Need right now. Sorry but the last three big games Dion has outplayed scoop going back to last year.

Absolutely. 6 TOs. Some terrible passes. I bet his +/- was awful.
Ohh, so today he sucks because of turnovers. OK he had 6 today. Before this game his assist to turnover ratio has been outstanding. In the previous 5 games he has had 19 assists to 4 turnovers, best on the team. Back up your points with facts instead of spouting off opinions.

Umm, what do you see him do well in the halfcourt? Against good competition he is on the bench in crunch time...enough said.

Again, give me some facts and I will give merit to your thoughts. Not interested in your opinion.

I did...he is on the bench in crunch time. I'll give you more...he lets guards get by him at will into the paint. That is not debateable. He has trouble getting around hedging defenders coming at him and he has trouble getting into the paint.

I agree with what CherieHoop said in the chatroom tonight. Keep him on the bench at the start of the game. He's more hungry that way.

If you want Xmas(our only true PF) MCW, and Southerland to get more minutes agianst good teams then we need to get leads.

If this were the case his turnover ratio would be significantly higher. I'm not saying Scoop doesn't have flaws, but I've become tired of the constant complaining about his play.

Dion is obviously a much better talent than Scoop but Scoop is a 5th yr senior that has been a credit to the U. I say he gets the nod to start and Dion has the ball when the game is on the line.

Triche and Dion is the best guard combo, would like to see more of it. However, Dion coming off the bench I think is best. Scoop adds value to this team, like him or not. Go Cuse!

Scoop should be coming off the bench to get Waiters a breather. XMAS should be coming off the bench to get CJ a breather or be forcefed training minutes when we are up by 10+.

Both Scoop and XMAS are big factors in our offense being pretty embarrassing for a top 5 team.
