that was reminiscent of the playoff games against the mavs the year denver went to the wcf's . the knicks have shooters, good post defenders and a lock down perimeter defender in shumpert. Melo has to put up big numbers but if he can draw double and triples the knicks can be a factor.. the short season has had a toll on the top teams so the playoffs are wide open..

The Knicks are the 5th rated defensive team in the league for the year and the best defensive team in the league since Woodson took over. Shumpert may be the best perimeter defender in the NBA, with Chandler being one of the best interior defenders. The shooters HAVE to shoot better though, Melo carried them but JR and Novak missed sooooo many wide open threes. You have to make some of those.

Lin is missed. We have no pg, Baron is ok for about 15 min a game and TD is good for about 5. That leaves 28 minutes.

Iman Shumpert is going to be a superstar. Wow.

When Amare comes back later this week (it seems) I think you have to bring him off the bench as the 4/5 backup. JR comes in for the 1/2/3 positions. Novak comes in for the 2/3/4 positions and Amare comes in for the 4/5 positions with Baron, Shumpert, Fields, Melo, Chandler starting. I think Amare will start however and Fields will go to the bench. Hopefully Melo can still do his thing at the 3. The lane will be alot more congested though.
