Ah, no mention of National Lampoon's Vacacation? Or Scarface? OK, maybe they're not among the best, but I love them.

Fun year. I forgot that The Big Chill is an '83 as well. And A Christmas Story. And Octopussy, which doesn't get a lot of praise but I think it's one of the better Bond plots. The King of Comedy's an interesting departure from what came before and after. Silkwood's good, too.

Trading Places might be my top pick.

I like that you listed the 1932 Howard Hawkes Scarface and not the overrated 1983 version.
