The Tangent thread (not sure where to place this)

When one of our posts on the bball side went sideways, we kept getting herded (likes cats, as it turned out) back to topic. I remarked that I kind of like the meanderings and stream of consciousness was interesting. So much so that I thought a thread just for tangential stream of consciousness posts could be fun. Only rule is it must relate back to some prior post in the thread, but not necessarily this one.
