The air was taken out of their balloon from the start. Joseph thought it might to be a good time to play one of his worse games as an Orangeman. Sloppy and ineffective. There wasn't one player who tried to put the team on his shoulders and say "follow me, we are going to win regardless of being down a major piece of the puzzle.Dion couldn't hit the 3s and James ran out of the same after knocking down a couple. Unless Fab comes back this team is now among the mortals and March is just a month tht football news is written and cared about and my youngest son's birthday. The same day as spring practice begins.

I think this sums it up perfectly. Fab was the equalizer in the back of the zone. The intimidator that kept teams pushed out and allowed us to extend the zone. Without him, we are like 100 other teams in college hoops and our ceiling is most likely a sweet 16 :(

It tough being a Cuse fan man... it really is

I never thought I'd see the kind of "hang-dawg" looks I saw last night. Dion, Scoop, KJo- none of them looked READY to play.
Our "leaders" were the worst culprits out there & offered a blueprint for every mid-major we'll see in the Dance.

The thing I took most away from this is that SU has gotten a bit soft to me. I don't think they ARE soft, but they've been pushed around a bit lately, and haven't really responded much to it.

I think the rebounding issues are tied to hustle as much as anything. I can see them losing against Cincy sans Melo, but overall, hopefully this is just a kick in the ass for them. They can still be good without him. Might be good for them to play with a chip on their shoulder again.

This "blueprint" is nothing new - in recent years, look at the Vermont and Butler games. Even Stanford slowed it down against us earlier this year, and it look a late rally to beat an inferior opponent.

Yep, nothing could go right for us and nothing could go wrong for them. It was "the perfect storm". The biggest positive is, their best day against our worst and we kept the game within 10 points. Something to be said about that.

OK I'll say it. They didn't completely give up BUT they still didn't play well like going inside and scoring in the paint a nd trying to draw fouls more. Now I might want to point a finger in the coach's direction on that one. When your 3 isn't there do something else to change the game. There was never a "something else" in the Orangemen's game yesterday.

It's been the same blueprint for beating SU for 30 years. There's nothing new that ND did. Mid majors have done this to SU forever in the NCAAT.
