- Well we didn’t lose 10-40. It was just 10-17. (But it was still a loss).
- We got our running game going again after gaining a net zero yards last week. It was the old two man game between Del Rio Wilson that Shrader had going with Sean Tucker two years ago. The QB can hand it off in one direction or keep it and got in the other. Carlos ran for 67 yards, including a wide-open 27 yard TD run while Allen ran for 142. Supposedly we stopped doing that because we didn’t want our QB to get hurt. They get hurt anyway.
- Carlos made one of the great plays I’ve ever seen a QB make. He had handed off to LeQuint who found nothing in the middle. But Carlos had notice that the defense was all to the left side of the field. He got Allen turned around and literally pointed the way for him, then made a perfect block to seal the opening and Le Quint ran 32 yards to set up Carlos’s later TD jaunt. In the second half, LeQuint found that hole in the middle and bolted 56 yards to set up our other score, Denaburg’s 36 yard field goal.
- The defense never gave up, hammering the BC runners every chance they got. They recorded 8 tackles for losses.
- We could still get a bowl game and maybe a winning record. It’s not over. Till it’s over.
4-5 with 3, (or 4) to go
