- It was a valiant effort. We got crushed on the boards and gave up 0-9 and 0-13 runs in the second half but hung in this game to the end.
- Buddy Boeheim had 18 points in the first half and that served the team in his scoreless second, as he was double-teamed the whole time and had their best defender, leaky Black on him all the time. His teammates were able to go 4 on 3 and that kept us in the game.
- Quincy Guerrier, after a couple of down games where he got in foul trouble, had a monster game against the Tar Heel monsters with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.
- Watching Alan Griffin play is like watching a wild colt gallop across the hills. He’d sure make a great horse if you could tame him. He makes bad plays, sometimes lazy plays and drives JB crazy. But he makes good plays nobody else could make and occasionally pulls off a move and shot that you’d expect from an NBA player. He had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks a steal – and 6 turnovers.
