Packer & Durham in their first segment tried to break down tiers of ACC QB's. They will be going back to it later in the show.

They put Lawrence in Tier 1 by himself, and Bryce Perkins in Tier 1A.

Then they talked about every other quarterback in the ACC. Jamie Newman, Jawon Pass, Anthony Brown, etc... They didn't mention Devito at all. Like didn't even utter his name as "another QB." It's like he didn't exist. Pretty sure they mentioned every QB in the league.

Just found it very interesting, only because it really puts a light on how far off in the hinterlands SU is considered to traditional ACC talking heads.

TD will do his talking on the field. Let the talking heads yap all they want.
I don't think they're knocking Devito at all. I honestly think Syracuse simply isn't even thought of by traditional ACC folks. With that said, they just talked about him a lot in the second block. Had some video of him, said that he deserves to be in that next tier. I think they just forgot about him, which goes along with what I was saying about SU's relevance to many traditional ACC sportswriters and talking heads.

Most of these national guys look at these number:
44-87 50.6% 4 TD 3 INT and discount what TD will do this year.
Plus us not be a power in the 21st century kind of puts us in the back of the list anyway.
If they watched the FSU and/or UNC game they would see that TD is going to be special and the fact that some of these other QBs are being mention before TD is fine, they didn't know, it's not their fault :)

Some of those numbers are deceiving because of the circumstances that they occurred under. DeVito had two drives in the Western Michigan game taken away from him. One on a fumble and the other a beautiful pass while on the move to Custis taken away by a penalty. The Notre Dame game at Yankee Stadium which I was there, his first pass was a touchdown that got dropped. One of his interceptions was an absolute perfect pass that was taken away from the wide receiver. He also had another long ball that could have resulted in a touchdown dropped later in the game. I think the most important things we will see from Tommy DeVito this year is someone who will not be reckless with the ball or his body, and someone who will throw passes that give the receiver the ability to have yards after the catch. They will not have to slow down or adjust their body to make the catch. Just run in stride, make the catch and go. I'm very excited to see Tommy DeVito play this year and in a way I'm glad he is flying under the radar right now. That tends to keep them focused and playing with that chip on their shoulder. Go Orange!!!!!!!

I think he is going to break the single season passing record for an SU QB. I also think he is going to end up being a great representative of the University. TD has been provided with great parenting, excellent training, hasn't been rushed by the staff, plays the majority of hus games in perfect conditions and has solid skill players around him. Our D is going to limit opposing teams snaps providing TD with more possessions. If he stays healthy he is going to crush it.

Syracuse caller on show right now (ACC Network). Packer looks kind of awkward on TV, Am I the only XM radio person that gets that impression. They are pretty high on Syracuse and Devito.

Those guys have been saying DeVito is #3 consistently they both think very highly of SU

I know the ACCN hasn't been smooth sailing for everyone, though FiOS is great, but it really is great just having a tv channel focused entirely on our conference. The discussion was good and informed and they're both really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the ACC. It's fun to be in that club and I'm excited to watch games as the season goes on.

This was baked in when they selected the 'announcers' (Dixie-homers). We need representation on the broadcasts or it's not worth watching unless we're playing.

That’s not accurate. Those two have been pumping SU the last month.

I was referring to the ACCN - which has been on 5 days. I haven't seen P/D yet ... but they've dissed SU in every way possible in the Huddle. I'll check out P/D.

This is simply false. You just admitted you haven't even watched Packer and Durham. Durham said TD would be his pick for 3rd best QB in the League. Packer picked Brown from BC. By the way, Dino was just on the show yesterday. Some people just see what they want to see, I guess.

Yes I haven't seen p/d. I watched the Huddle a couple times ... not a single mention of SU. I'll check out P/D then ... no problem. Relax. I still think there's a Dixie bias in the programming that I"VE SEEN. I don't watch 24/7. But I'm fine with letting things play out and maybe it'll get more balanced.
Let's also remember, SU is playing what is (on paper) decidedly the least compelling ACC game of Week 1.

I doubt this will happen, but in Week 3, if SU-Clemson is getting equal billing to Louisville-Western Kentucky, I will be severely disappointed.

Of course SU-Clemson will get more coverage. Anything with Clemson will get more coverage, and rightfully so with Clemson being the conference's only stud team and defending national champion.

As the only other ranked team in the conference, SU should be the second most talked about team. I can't say whether we're getting our fair share of coverage or not since I don't get the network yet. However, it seems logical that they would focus on the conference's nationally ranked teams and the teams involved with whatever games are scheduled on the network that week.

90% of all reporters , analyst etc just look at stats , or cliche things or what they heard from others doing the same thing . 4 days till kickoff and than pre season. Hoopla is over ! They will be haunted by the air raid sirens soon enough ;)

I live in the south and I swear I spend half my day thinking "for once in your life, have an original thought"

I could care less if we are getting love right now or not. Even being pre season ranked we have not really proven anything yet. We shouldn't be so sensitive. Let them talk up the other programs. Once we @#$%÷ slap a few of them they will find religion quick enough.

About 35 years ago, my uncle who grew up near South Bend moved to Anniston, Alabama. His new neighbor came over to chat, and after about ten minutes said "Now the important question - Alabama or Auburn?"

My uncle said "Well, neither - I'm a Notre Dame fan". His new neighbor threw his beer down, stormed off in a huff, and didn't talk to my uncle once in the 25 years he lived in that house.

There are weird people everywhere, but I think the percentage of weird people in the deep south is markedly higher than the rest of the country.

Should be titled TEARS of ACC Quarterbacks...

and then list every QB that Alton and Kendall will face this season.
Ranked by how much like a rented mule they will be beaten by the end of the game.

I'm sure that #9 Evan Foster aka"Nyquil" is looking forward to making Sunshine's acquaintance again. ;)
