Timing, As They Say, Is Everything

Clearly they are winning too many games with him as a coach and the only way to stop it is to have someone else coach a few.

Its freaking Iowa. He got fired up. Probably too much corn in his diet. Let him coach!

Right he's winning basketball games . . . . IN IOWA . . . . he was mad at the refs which is certainly inderstandable, not like he went after his players or someone from the school.

Really disappointing.

I'd like to see an AD stand up for a coach who criticizes inept officiating.

They need Bob Watson and Cesar Cedeno to get the crowd riled up with a chant of "Let him coach. Let him coach."

I think the next Big E team with a need should make him an offer. If he can win in Iowa City, he can win almost anywhere.

You mean the Catholic league? The BE is disbanded no matter what they call themselves :D
Seriously though they would benefit from a colorful guy who is also a good coach but honestly he's coaching in the bIg and it would be a step down for him. I think he could move to a bigger better job than an ECCC (East Coast Catholic Conference)

If he really wants to criticize inept officiating in a manner that has an impact then it should be done off the court in a less emotional fashion. Screaming his fool head off, creating physical contact and generally trying to intimidate someone that is presumably trying to their job as best they can isn't particularly honorable nor is it likely to be a catalyst for change. It just makes him appear to be another idiot that can't control his emotions.

That's true.

All you have to know about Iowa is to try and understand the circus they call the Iowa Caucus. Between the residents and the mostly loony politicians that show up, there is not a great amount of logic based thinking going on.

Thing is, he really cost his team the game. The legend is that a coach gets a T to fire his team up, but this didn't do that. All it did was build a wider lead for Wiscy that became insumountable.
I was impressed with Iowa, they looked good to me, good enough to win that game. Dekker looked pedestrian in that game for Wiscy.

He's hardly proven he can win there ... yet. This is an enormous year for him professionally.

Jeff Goodman just listed him 2nd on coaches on the hot seat, right ahead of the stellar work of Johnny Dawkins.
