The other baby-faced title team was Syracuse in 2003, featuring freshmen Carmelo Anthony, Gerry McNamara and Billy Edelin, joined by senior Kueth Duany and sophomores Hakim Warrick and Josh Pace.
Two things helped those teams cut down the nets: At least one of the freshmen was ready to star right away (Lamb for Connecticut, Anthony for Syracuse), and the new guys had a core of experienced talent to show them the ropes.
