along with RJ Barrett/Duke, Carsen Edwards/Purdue, Ethan Happ/Wisconsin and Shamorie Ponds/St Johns. He was also picked as the #3 best player in their top 100 list behind Barrett and Edwards. Congrats to Tyus. I have to think about the last time we had a 1st team preseason AA. Maybe Hakim Warrick. Am I missing someone?

Oshae is picked as the 63rd best player and PC is picked as the 5th best rim protector.

Congrats to all of them. It's a good time to be Orange.

Talked to Tyus for a couple of minutes at the football game yesterday. He and a couple of friends moved over and sat right in front of us in 319. Seems like a great kid. Thanked him for coming back and he smiled and said he couldn't be happier to be here.

Happ is still at Wisconsin?? He must be on the Pascal extended plan!!!

Happ has a Carl Krauser scholarship to Wisconsin. It allows him 8 years of eligibility. It's only superseded by the Darius Lane scholarship which is valid for a whole decade.

The Syracuse equivalent to this is the Gerry McNamara scholarship which is good for 6 years and 9 games.

Wes Johnson made 1st team AA in 2010.

Oshae at 63 is the most disrespectful thing I've heard in 10 years.

Just wait...

Wes was a preseason AA? I don't remember that.

Sorry, not preseason. But at the end of the season, he was 1st team AA with the AP, Basketball Writers and the Coaches polls.

Maybe at the end of the year it will look disrespectful, but based on last years performance I don't think it's out of line at all.

Oshae is a monster. I am baffled by the underestimation of him. They will play the games and people will see. The guy is going to take the nation by storm this year.
I am the Prez of the OB fan club. I expect him to be able to finish more around the rim this year and still get fouled as much.

Only if we have enough guys who can make threes, and he finishes better through contact. I think the chances are that he's going to explode on to the national scene this year, but he has to put in the work. He has to get better. I do believe he can do it.

I didn’t look at the list but how many freshmen are ranked higher than 63?

It's actually a good thing.
Let everyone underestimate him and the Orange.
Remember 2003: from unranked to champs.
The fact is this team may have one of the best guard-forward combos in America.

We were criminally underrated going into the season having the best recruit in the country coming in.

12 freshman, 11 sophs, 21 juniors, 18 seniors.

A lot more upperclassmen then I would think. I guess the testing the water policy is helping college basketball.

Point being is what did those 12 frosh do last year to earn a higher ranking than Oshae?

and you flat out can not tell me that there were 11 rooks last year that were better than oshae (on top of all the 1 and dones)

I can only imagine how much he's expanded his game, from preparing for last summer's NBA draft and spending the summer working with specialist trainers.

It isn't going to take much for him to take his already impressive game to the next level. Just imagine a little bit more efficiency, a little better shooting, a little more refinement off of the bounce. He's going to be a handful.
