Unanimous #1 in coaches' poll

Jimmy bELIeves! finally! Snuck in that Eli Manning reference for good measure.

Is there a media poll today or will it come out tomorrow?

In the AP poll, SU now has 1619 points after getting 1618 the previous week. I'm guessing Ron Morris has vaulted SU all the way up to #3.

Wow, Murray State now #10. Hard to know how good they really are.

UConvicts up 5 to #11. That's OK, they have 2 good beatdowns coming in their future when they play SU.

This is the week we'll find out about Baylor - at Kansas and home to Mizzou. If they win both of those in solid fashion, then I would say they are a legit Final 4 team.
Talking about that last night with a friend. I told him I think they lose 2 in a row this week. He laughed.

Just noticed that there are 31 coaches who vote in the coaches poll.
What are the criteria to be selected as one who votes?

The article that came with that said

"Is Baylor the best team in the country?

The Bears have had some of the most impressive road wins of the season ... but they have not been able to jump Kentucky or Syracuse in the USA TODAY/ESPN men's basketball coaches poll -- at least not yet."

(not as impressive if they'd dig a little bit under the surface as I did in another thread)

I just tried finding where Ron Morris had us. They haven't updated poll stalker yet.http://www.pollspeak.com/component/...1,/t1_1,/t2,/t2_1,/v,427/v_1,427/w,10/w_1,10/

Okay, so it wasn't Ron Morris who voted SU #3. It was Jason Franchuk, the same guy who voted Baylor #1. So he jumped Baylor over both SU and UK.

Let him know how you feel about that here: https://twitter.com/#!/harkthefranchuk (And yes, a professional journalist calls himself "The Franchuk.")

Carolina at 4? He must have been impressed by them this weekend.

Could his vote be called the 81-78 affect?

Yup Jason Franchuk of the Daily Herald, Provo, UT he's a BYU reporter and a Kansas grad who's wife is also a Kansas girl. Harboring any grudges from 2003?

BYU lost by 3 to Baylor that must have impressed him to no end.
I researched BYU to see what a great win that was for Baylor:

Baylor just escaped by 3 over BYU on the road giving up 83 points. The Jimmerless BYU squad has lost to Utah St by 7, to Wisconsin by 17 and to St Mary's by 16.

His bio:

"When not writing about himself in the third person, sportswriter Jason Franchuk primarily covers the day‒to‒day happenings of the BYU men's basketball team for the Daily Herald. He's also the full‒of‒opinion (and often full of himself, right?) columnist during Cougar football season. Franchuk moved to Utah in 2003 shortly after graduating from the Univ. of Kansas. The job has taken him all over this fair country, plus Russia, but for as worldly as he may seem his biggest flaw is that he doesn't think Laramie is that bad."
