UNC Practicing Against Zone Tonight

Playing Miami (ESPN2). Miami's zone is giving them a tough time and UM is leading 29-23 at the half. I'd rather UNC didn't get to see another 2-3 zone and get used to playing against it in the game before they play Cuse.

Some people picked NC second behind Duke preseason. They might start conference play 0-3 and 1-4 with a then huge home game vs Clemson later this month for any chance at finishing top 2.

Then again, on Saturday, UNC may think it knows how to handle a zone without ever seeing a real one.

UNC is such a wild card, there is no telling which team will show up at Saturday's game. That number two ranking is a big target on our back, though, and even a third grader can count to two.

They beat Michigan St, Kentucky, and Louisville. If SU beats them Saturday it will be fun, trust me.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for UNC, whichever way you want to look at it), that article has been debunked pretty soundly by now. Their main source (Willingham) pretty much just got busted for making everything up, UNC released a statement condemning CNN, and the article was taken off of their front page.

Fun fact: Clemson has never beaten UNC in Chapel Hill. They are something like 0-60 against UNC all-time in Chapel Hill. Will this be the year? Who knows. Unfortunately for Clemson, in UNC's recent down year (the 2010 season), Clemson didn't get a chance to travel to Chapel Hill and break the curse.

UNC can be impressively bad at times. What a collapse over the past 2:00 mins. Miami is much better than their record. They are starting to hit their stride. I expect them to finish top 5 in the conference if they keep this up. They are dangerous.

Paige is really unimpressive. Was shocked to see him averaging almost 18 pts a game. Good looking athlete. Just glides out there but he has no concept of the team game. No attempt made to run offensive sets, just looking for his own.

Miami went 3-0 against UNC last year, including a win against UNC in the ACC title game. They certainly know how to beat the Tar Heels.

These teams have running up and down the floor and Carolina hasn't cracked 40 with just over 7 minutes left. Carolina is the perfect matchup for SU, a poor shooting, undisciplined team with no post presence. SU should win by 12.
