This kid has been doing great on kickoffs. They are consistently hitting near the back of the end zone. When a kick returner foolishly tries to bring one out...they likely are stopped around the 15-20 yard line.

I expect he'll take over for Andre on FGs next year. One other fun fact: he played QB in HS so if a snap ever gets bobbled he has a chance to deliver a completed pass.

The young man has a boot, and our entire special teams has been ridiculously improved. Good observation and good post, we don’t talk about these players nearly enough.

Really odd side note but please suffer me; you know how they typically let a fan try to kick a FG at halftime? My wife asked me what would happen if I tried. I told her I’d struggle to get loft on it but could easily drop kick it. Would they let a fan do that? Lol

Brady is a special player. Kicked a 57 yard FG in HS. I think it is only a matter of time before he kicks the longest FG in Syracuse history.

He didn't just play QB either. He was a terrific QB who threw for 3200 yards and 30 TDs as a senior and led his team all the way to the state finals. In Florida.

The Denaberg family is unbelievable.

His dad was a football player in college. His mom was a terrific tennis player.

His big brother Mason is a pitcher in the Washington Nationals farm system who was a first round draft choice for them. Paid off the mortgage on his parents house when he signed. He will likely pitch soon in MLB.

And his big sister Lexy is a fantastic volleyball player, a first team AA at UCLA who is likely going to play on the USA women's Olympic team.

The coach by committee experiment was a complete disaster. We go from that to Lig and bingo. Coaching matters.

An actual drop kick? They should, as it's a legal way to kick a FG.
Exactly! Idk why people don’t try that instead of the soccer kick.

Wow, had no idea. That is an insane family.

Damn. That's on level with Jones family genetics with Art, Chan, and Jon

Doug Flutie made a drop kick XP for the Pats. It was the last attempted and successful drop kick in the NFL. Belichick let him try in a game that meant nothing or the Pats were way ahead.

i dont think the avg person is gonna kick a drop kick 25 yds any better.. the main issue is everyone come in soccer style but then kicks it with their toe.

Soccer style is easier for most people. The drop is unpredictable if you aren't practicing it and timing the kick is tricky.

If dropkicks were easier, people would still do it.

Btw, when I saw that guy lining up a toe kick Saturday in a soft, nike-free style shoe, I knew he had no chance.

not allowing returns has been huge for us. It was getting very frustrating because we were relying on the kick off team to "pin" the team back yet we'd allow a 50 yard return.
It also helps to prevent injuries.

Awesome great stuff. Andre's return to form this year probably has something to do with the other kicker nailing 60 yarders in practice.
I think it has to do with Coach Lig, better holds, and going back to using his freshman form.

Trying to remember the kicker from a few years back with a similarly strong leg on kickoffs.

The only comparison is Pat O’Neil…that’s 90s.
O'Neil is a good one. I remember Norton as a kickoff specialist in the 2010 or so range as a guy who generally nailed like 50% of his kicks as touchbacks, but agree ONeil was higher.
